THRONE ROOM - NHPC Boss Office - Danelaan & Vandar

We're 3D students and we decided to take part in this contest.

Our idea is based on a cyberpunk universe and the "throne room" of the mega-corporation's head. The main idea behind this was to have something that deals with the opposition.
Opposition between the clean aspect of a dominating mega corporation and the harsh aspect of life in a cyberpunk setting, in which technology hasn't only brought happy perspectives.
Opposition between the cutting-edge technology and a classical inspiration in the architecture, and the taste in art for the character.

Here's the moodboard, summing up the references we've been mostly using:

We've also worked a bit on the background to give ourselves some idea about what we're dealing with exactly, and who owns the place.

The NHPC (New Human Project Corporation) buildings tower above the rest of the city, and the rest of humanity. Tallest among the tallest, the Awakening Tower is the trademark skyscraper of these days, the one that comes to everyone's mind.
There reigns the infamous Vorion Saete, the historical head of the NHPC. He founded the corporation when the old nations still had States which were relevant. In this new era, he led his corporation about the rank of the main powers of the world.
Yet the man isn't well known. He rarely appears in public and uses people to relay most of his orders. What do regular folks think of him? Well, not much, truth be told. If you'd ask, you'd probably get a "Who?" by some. If you'd ask if they thought he was an evil tyrant, which some (now gone missing) rivals have said in the past, they'd probably answer with a "Nah.". You never know who might be listening, after all.
He works for his rep, that's for sure. Of course, his corporation has taken control of most regular state-missions - police, tax collection, even justice delivery in some parts of the world. Of course, the weapons they research have raised some morality issues during the last conflicts. And, obviously, the rumors about secret lab experiments are downright horrifying. Then again, they're only rumors, aren't they?
On the other hand, he has been donating to most of the surviving charity ONGs and has saved part of them from going bankrupt; he has had a hand in the resolution of the last Drone War; he has been adamant about his intentions to let the press stay free in the parts of the world the NHPC control. And since he owns most of the major media, he surely knows what he's talking about.
So is he a regular bad guy? Maybe, maybe not. Well, anyway, I wouldn't liked to be dragged to his famed office that so few have seen. They say it's impressive and quite beautiful; that's the place from where he runs one of the most powerful mega corporations. Yet in the midst of this weird place where art and cutting-edge technology both have their place, I've heard too much about how disappointing lieutenants or disavowed friends get thanked for their service and sent to eternal slumber.

And here's a blocking that we've used as a starting base for our concept :

The idea is to have a very "tech-oriented" wall to the right of the throne - when facing the door - and a very "art-oriented" wall to his left.

We are currently working on the exact throne shape we want, here are some of the blocking we've done so far:

We are now looking into moving to refining the modelisation, to start working on the shapes of the different elements in the room.

Softwares we're going to use:

3DSMax
Zbrush
Mudbox
Photoshop
Substance Painter
Unreal Engine 4

We'll update the post when we've advanced a bit with all that. :)
