While examining some extracted packages from a game that utilized UNREAL 3 as its engine, I came across some texture maps that looked to be somewhat fluorescent with bright colors (pinks yellows, blues etc) and they appeared to be acting similarly to what a gloss map would do (I think), however they were named 'wearmasks'.
So the assets in the game had regular difuse, specular, normal, and then the 'wearmasks' aswell.
I did a quick search on 'wearmasks' and haven't come across any information about them, how they are created, and what the various colors in the map represent.
Can anyone shed some light on this?

So I suppose you create a wear mask by adding greyscale texture maps into the 3 RGB values...
