zremesher is infamous for it's spirals, with or without guides. hope this will get fixed some day
until then DON'T USE THE FUCKIN THING i can't count the times we worked with other peoples meshes, selected 1 edge, hit ring or loop in max and have THE WHOLE DAMN OBJECT selected
It's great if your going from dynamesh to sculptable subdivisions, but don't rely on it for auto creating functional topology for you. It's still in your best interest to do that by hand.
If that's the only area that the spirals exist, in theory you should be able to copy the topology to a zsphere, delete the verts that belong to the spiral, and then quickly add in you own verts the way you want them.

I'm 90% happy with my results with zremesher - I would be 99,9 % happy if not for the damn spirals.
