Hey all! My name is Antti, and I'm going to paint Ashe.
Here's some references I picked up, and some very rough sketches. I guess my sketching is some of the ugliest you'll see But since there's no one to get approval from, There's no point keeping them cool

True, but if I may add:
If you link huge pictures it's pretty unpracticable for visitors, because it might take quite a while for them to load.

Some changes, biggest of them being the front hawk, whose perspective I'm finally happy with. I sketched so many birds trying to study them, since I didn't find any reference with the right pose.
Cleaned the image up also, trying to keep it smooth.

Way too much blue magic fx if you ask me.
Try making it more transparent and fade out more clearly.
Post#9 had a nice effect on the back bird, I'd prefer if you'd go more in that direction.

i really loved where you were going with post #9 - her hair, face, and cape were so beautiful. i wonder if you even need the second smaller hawk? if you repositioned the first one?

Thank you for crits Silvarspark and littlet! I was playing with the blue stuff a bit too much, I fear I wanted it to be a more solid element to the painting. But I think I'll go for a more subtle look, as you suggested. I'm not sure if I'll keep the pattern on the cape. Didn't really like it myself. I too liked the hair on No.9, and perhaps I'll go back to it. Thanks guys So much!

hm, i think i liked the warmer skin more before, fitting with the other colors. also the shoulder armor. you went more cold elfish now
also will you add the ornaments on the cloke later again?

Thanks bloecher Yeah I kinda changed the skin tone to be more pale and northern. Maybe I'll warm it up a bit I'll add ornaments, but more subtle. I'm experimenting quite a bit with the piece Is the elvis-look a bad thing?

ah, it's not bad, definitely adds more contrast. no matter what, you have a great sense for colors and composition, will be awesome in the end i think. your first scetches are already better than what i will have in the end
