hey folks, this is my first post here on PolyCount. I've carefully reviewed other posts like this and determined after refilling my box of kleenexes in preparation of the rivers of tears, I'm ready. Tell me what you think and how I can improve. I'm hoping to make a 3D model out of it, and finally make something worth showing off in zbrush.

It is entirely acceptable to just build up a series of planes (bent as necessary) to block in your forms. A lot of artists use this method to deal with complex geometries where there's a ton of little meshes they need to make for a sculpt, etc.
Unless you're going for the modern, sleeker version of power armor which I think is more in line with the concepts you're drawing from. In that case, the generic term "exo-suit" might more applicable, like the armor from Crysis or the new redesign of robocop.
