[Riot Art Contest] - Deep Terror Thresh

I'll be doing a re-design of Deep Terror Thresh. The idea is that Thresh's dark magic has taken over the creatures of the deep sea and commanded them to reanimate his corpse and collect souls to serve the sea. Big fan of the game and the champion, so this should be fun! cheers!

I've got tons of small pencil sketches laying around that i'll eventually get uploaded and put together so i can update this image, but for now here's a sort of clue to the direction I'm going. His body is being animated by a large octopus strapped to his back and wrapped around his limbs, his lantern is an old diving helmet that houses his little crab buddy, his hook is an old anchor, and his head is going to be a twisted lion fish.

Updated image with my sketchboard. I've been too busy to get into 3d until recently, but I have been sketching out different ideas. Here's some of the better ones that im going to be drawing inspiration from.





Here's the blocking mesh so far, I'm still trying out some different shapes for his head so that is currently missing.

Here's an update on the model. Got the crab roughed out and made another pass on most of the parts.

Got all the base mesh modeling done. Just about ready for ZBrush!

Changed the head again. I needed something more menacing while trying to mimic Thresh's original face shape language.
Started shaping and detailing different parts.

Updated the sculpt, changed the octopus arms and face and added the suckers. Still lots to do, Cheers!

Calling the Detail Sculpt done for now. Moving on to lo-poly. Also going to be trying some color palettes too.
