It doesn't make useable geometry, but that is an interesting way to do shape exploration. Looks like the type of thing that is years away from control / usefulness, but it would be cool to be able to define a few connection points and have a machine kick out 20 or 30 thumbnail options.
A machine's result, I imagine human designers have come up w/ stuff similar to the right most one, but only a machine would think it's comfortable
