[Riot Art Contest] Harvest Moon Warwick

so- provided that I enjoy canines- more spicifically wolves, I decided to go with Warwick.... that and I could not quite come up with a concept for another character- but I digress.

First we have the initial concept, the blue-grey wolf pelt with red paint, symbolizing the harvest or 'blood moon':

And then i went right to work on the initial pose and composition, drawn in a sketch book:

I had actually been working on this before i was able to get my account working to be able to post! but as one would guess, i did start with a general line, first- its sketchy, and i do plan on refining it in the future:

then Flat Colors with a bit of Texturing for the loin-cloth and the paldrens:

then a basic shading job, it got kind of dark, but my plan was to have the 'Harvest moon' behind him- and a dark based Backround, so with that lighting in mind i came up with:

then more refined painting on the lighting and shading and just general finessing:

Finally started on the background, and adding some additional glow to make everything POP more.
I originally put the more yellow moon, following a reference I had, but then just to see what it looked like, tied making the moon/highlights red.

i am more inclined towards the yellow moon- it makes his eyes, and glowing claws more noticeable, I think? rather than just EVERYTHING being red- but i'd love some opinions!
