I have the retopo, uvs and occlusion bakes done. Braum and his shield are just under 10K tris, the polos and worm are around 1.5K.
I could save some extra polys, on his face in particular, but I wanted to keep the eyballs and mouth socket for some funny renders at the end. Same for the worm, it's pretty useless now as it is, but hopefully I can find some use for it when I will be doing the final comps.
Next is going to be the fun part! Time to put some colors in there!

HAHA, how did I miss this!!! This is a really clever design for Braum! I spent some time looking back in the thread and I'm super mind blown by every update. This is really cool!! Being born and raised from the south of Texas, this one hits home for me! I can't wait to see him posed mate, this is far out.

love it, would really like it if the chillies on his chest had some practical meaning. (other than scorching the eyes of enemies) some grenade rings hanging off the stems could be a good addition
Hey, He looks absolutely gorgeous! The only thing i would say is to tone down the green on the cactus thing. It's an attention grabber right now. Maybe change it a bit so it's not that green?
This is by far my fav entry! Love the idea and you executed it perfectly! I would love to make a submission of this for the illustration contest as well! So with your permission and if I manage to find the time for it I would love to do it!

@suspectlogic: Thanks for the suggestion! I added this detail for more clarity. At first I wanted to do a belt of chili pepper bullets, but that would have been too expensive in terms of polygons, so I went for the two bigger chili grenades instead, ala TF2 soldier. Now those rings could even add some cool secondary animations. Sweet!
@MGrecke: I'm very honored that you would consider making an illustration of this guy! When I browse your portfolio, I'm like a kid in a candy store and want to model all your illustrations. So I would be super happy to see an illustration of El Braum, but I'm afraid Riot would consider that as team work. Ok, boring update, sorry in advance. I took a break from texturing to start rigging my character. Hopefully when I get back to photoshop I will have a fresh look at what needs to be changed.
At first I wanted to try the animation category as a noob, but it might be wiser to just make some cool poses for my final renders. We'll see how it goes in December!

He seems as though he would be easily adapted into many folk heroes,
I image in this form all of his abilities would be heat based no?
Also someone mentioned that adding the light to dark gradients from the head to the feet . on these characters will really help as well.
