It looks like I am going with A3 for this visual update of Taric, general consensus was it was more vibrant then the classic all blue colors thanks to the warm trim but with the blue gems was still recognizable enough. It will be riskier going with those colors but I am going to pull a Riot and also make a nice beauty render of A1 and C1 Taric, the now "traditional" skin and emerald skin. Must make BoBo happy!! =D
Below is the latest textures I have been polishing. I am pretty happy with them and will be working on poses and making the final presentation shots, but please tell me if you see any glaring issues I should fix.
Like it so much! Maybe the textures need some more reflections on the grey parts of the armor. The crystals are amazing and I love the shape of the cape!
Alright, all good things must come to an end. Here are my final submission images, I noticed way to late that I was using the shield without crystals but figured it wasn't a huge problem so I just kept on going haha.

D_wall - Does that mean you don't like the emerald one? I was so so on it but there were people who liked it and since it fit exactly with one of his current skins I figured it can't hurt to throw it in there. =P
SteVAI - Wish I could point to one end all be all tutorial for hand painting, but I can't think of any off the top of my head. To be honest I am not much of a hand painter either, a lot of that detail is from the Hi Poly bakes. XD
Goldo_O - Thanks, you went above and beyond with your Braum, turned out amazing. The most I could do with Taric was make a couple extra color variations. =P

So this is the last thing I wanted to try out with Taric now that the contest is over. I threw him into Unreal 4 to test out his normals and see some actually lighting on him. Just made a real fast spec map, didn't add more detail to anything, wasn't going for more realistic. And first time making a Gif, hopefully next time I can make it a little smoother. =P
very cool man, I really like how the unreal version turned out. Did you have to paint out some of that spec you had painted in the diffuse?

Yeah for the Unreal version I just simplified my diffuse so it and the lighting wouldn't fight each other. Left most of the broader gradients in there, but hide the layers that had my sharper precise metal highlights and drop shadows. Felt weird to do, but I then put in some new metal details with dirt overlays and light wear and tear onto the spec and roughness maps that would now be used. Pretty much spreading the detail out from one map onto a handful, and letting the normals do the heavy lifting. =P
I bet everyone will make a TrulyOutrageous Taric montage after his rework, and btw very nice work on this, i don't even know why rito chose poppy for this patch...

Yeah boiiii! Looks great. That hammer has such great shapes by the way, I didn't really acknowledge it until now!
