Absence of soft shadows

Hey all, I'm running into a problem;

I have a building which has various point light sources and a physical sun and sky. However, all point light source shadows seem to be very hard and not soft. Any tips / settings / tutorials that I should use in order to have soft shadows?

I'm also working with mia_material glass presets.

Rendering with mental ray:

These settings are applied to all lights in my scene:
