I don't know the game, so i don't know how much focus is on her or him. Right now to me it is kind of odd, that he has a lower polycount than she has, considering how much surface area he covers in comparison.
No problem man! I may only be newer to the wonderful world of this industry, but I like helping out if I can!
Btw your textures are already sexy as **** ...that's alittle weird to say about a model of a 11 year old girl, but i just like the style and quality I swear! x'D
Lookin' good so far! I think you can afford some polygons on Tibbers' arms though. Right now they are big unbroken smooth areas. His sleeves and paws could use some breaking up.
I very appreciate your amazing progress. It's very eye pleasing work.
Probably you would know but for a just reminder, I suggest you to paint simple color all over the model first, so you can see what is the model going to look like early. : ) http://www.lolking.net/models/?champion=1&skin=0
and here's a small reference for you.
Looking forward to seeing the updates!
FlorenceThibault, Kraken, Ro-Bo, SorinLupu, D_Wall, Goldo_O, dreadleft, Byren, LRoy, FrankieD, Khronos: Thanks for the kind works fellow polycounters!
Beats: Thanks for the feedback. I will mess with the eyes at some point...i'm falling behind so gotta go with painting for now. I'm not sure I really want to make the eyes larger but I'll give it a try and see if I like it. The face adjustment sort of makes her less youthful so I will prob not do that.
Neox: Yea, I realize he is much larger but I just didn't see a need to make his polycount larger. I always tend to add more polys on a female face or hair just cuz those tend to stand out more if you cut down. I will probably adjust as I texture if I see something needs more.
katzeimsack: Thanks man...you're tellin me?! Love your Vi!
EtotheRic: You could be right. I will prob mess with the shapes once I start texturing.
bgram1984: Thanks man! I've been using the viewer from the beginning but I appreciate the link.
I had no time over the break to really work on this but blocked in Annie's colors and did the hair. Gotta get moving!!
Alrighty, Annie is 90% done. I have a few changes I'm prob gonna make to the hair per a buddy's suggestion but otherwise, she's done unless someone notices something glaring...gotta move on to Tibbers!!!
She looks fantastic! My only crits would be maybe to further erase the nasolabial fold and just have that area totally smooth, also a spot highlight on her nose would look nice. I'm guessing the bear hair ties are still to be painted? would be cool to do the muzzle a lighter colour. The eyes turned out amazing, would love to see textures~
haha Texture is looking super. I agree with pretty much everything future-fiction said.
I think and I am sure you have already thought about this but I might add a little Sub Surface in the usual places. Also a little red into the nose fingers, and knees.
"I had a question about something you suggested on my character. Not sure if you remember but you suggested adding subsurface and also reds. The reds I have subtly but I can always add more so that part I get. When you said subsurface, were you referring to more red like translucency or cooler colors on the face? Sorry to derail your thread man...just wanted to clarify since I take your feedback seriously!"
hehe firstly...you should never take my feedback from too seriously I don't know what I am talking about half the time, and the other half I am just wrong
I was referring to translucency..mainly in her ears. I would definitely up the reds in her nose, hands, and knees..also maybe some rosy cheeks?
I made a quick paintover... I think I went a little overboard with the saturation but you get the idea.
I think her skin color is OK, I'm more conserned about her hair, I suppose it will be better to simplify it, make strands bigger.
( you base after baking had this thing)
But in general she looks nice:) Will wait for the bear.
Avenger84, jeebs, Tits, brenly: thanks guys! and gals!
future-fiction: thank you and very good points! I have adjusted my texture to update with your suggestions.
duncan: Appreciate the feedback my man! I added some more subsurface albeit much more subtle that your paintovers
Hellstern: A buddy made the same suggestion you did a while back so I had already made some adjustments. Not quite the simplicity in your PO but just reducing contrast, blacks, and making the bangs a bit more readable as larger forms. Hope it works better!
So, I am deep in the hole here...tear. Probably not gonna finish on time but I'm gonna keep at it. Made some adjustments to Annie, added some more reds in her skin and adjusted contrast in the hair. Started texturing on Tibbers...so far mostly just color blockins and fur painted on the head and arms. Future-fiction requested a texture shot so this is it so far. so much to do, so little time...sigh...
Dude this is brilliant! Love where you are heading with Tibbers. Super clean Uvs and that's great that you fit both in one map!
You're almost there man, don't give up. There is not much time left but you are also very close to be done and it's gonna be an awesome entry! You can do it!
cool. Yeah I did go too far but you nailed it. I would maybe throw a touch more into the ear or take it out..for some reason it is just looking a bit too dark. If you wanted all I did was pick that square of colour in my paint over and paint the ear on a "colour dodge" layer. that might make it pop a little..but it is up to you.
Here you're like "not that great of a hand painter" but it's looking pretty good haha. Been nice to see your thread and input on everyone's threads through this entire contest.

So, UVIng, baking, cleaning...on to textures GO!!
can't wait to see the textures
Looking forward to seeing the textures
I am looking forward to seeing these guys with some colour.
So it begins...
Maybe try scaling up the eyes a little and giving them slightly more rotation. Also push the bunches a little more
Looking forward to seeing the final texture
besides that, looking good!

Awesome work. I am keen to see some more.

Or 20 days , if you add in some chocolate covered expresso beans :icon60:
