Hi guys,
I'm going to be doing Syndra as she's one of my favorite mid laners.
This is my first competition and will be the first time creating a stylized game character so I hope I can finish this on time.
Good luck to you all
Update of my low poly version!

I've also included a reference board for her face.
Any feedback is welcome

I am also doing a Syndra and stumbled over your thread. The face has something "childish" to it, can't tell why that is. (But it could still be a child-version of syndra if you aim for it)
DmitryGrebenkov posted a link to his 3D version of Caitlyn. As Edgeflow is crucial it might help to look at his Cait - you can toggle the wireframes on and see his two subdivs http://p3d.in/2ultS/wireonsmooth
Hoping to have her clothing/ armor finished by tonight and then move onto her headpiece.
I think I also need to go back and work more on her lips more, I'm just not happy with them.
Critique welcome
His Caityln is amazing!
Edgeflow is definitely important, I've never done anything low poly before so I'm hoping when I get to that it wont be too difficult, I heard Topogun is very good?
I think I'm slowly getting the hang of sculpting faces. Going to try and improve it further.
Also started detailing her shoulder armor, which I have decided to do the patterns the game model has.
I've been having trouble with that cause it said that you just had to insert attachment after you upload but it kept coming up with an error.. no idea how it managed to work when I made my first post.. But will definitely fix it
Silhouette of front and side view
Critique welcome
so here is an updated Silhouette. Going to make a start on texturing her so check back soon for an update
Critique welcome !
Also made her waist coat longer and wider on the sides.
I made some more proportional changes and fixed her lips (Just couldn't help myself).
Hoping to move onto the re-toping stage in the next few days.
Critique is highly welcome
Polypainting finished. Made the gold brighter and added more detail to her skirt and top.
Now onto re-toping...
She's currently sitting at 2,220 tris (includes base, stockings, sleeve, glove and wrist armor) ... the tri count will change once I add clothing as I'd remove the unnecessary quads.
I did try to lower the tri count but lost some of the proportions. As this is my first time doing the high to low poly workflow.. any tips would be much appreciated
Finished creating my low poly model, Is at 8.3k tris.. not sure how I'd go about lowering it and not lose the silhouette (but I think 8.3k is reasonably okay, as riot didn't give a set limit..)
As I'm entering this competition to improve my skills (I have only been doing 3D for about a year) any tips to improve would be great.
I'm aware that some parts of the vertices are intersecting with other parts and I'll fix it up tomorrow when I make a start on the UVs.
Edi is the best
Just a quick screenshot of my progress. (I apologise for the low quality.. Will update with better quality soon)
UVs are done and Gradient map is baked (Might change when I start texturing, though)
I was not a fan of her low poly face, so switched over to Maya 2015 and re-did it there.. which definitely helped as Maya 2014 modeling toolkit didn't seem to have relax.
Anyways I'm exhausted.. going to play some Dragon Age : Inquisition
I can't wait to pose her
I'll scale them up and hope it makes a difference.
