Hey, I'm gonna spend the next two weeks trying to finish a fully textured and normal mapped gun in PBR from the movie Aliens. Thought I might post my progress on here.
Right now I'm currently working my way through the highpoly. Any feedback is appreciated
Thanks!

Did you use reference images aside from that one? That specific image you provided is harder to read.
Most notable areas being the carry handle on top and the barrel area.

Got some time to work on it now in the morning.
but it's getting there I still have a lot of artifacts to go through but here is the progress so far
Thanks! That really helped bring my polycount down
I've now just started of doing the texture work and looking into getting the materials to read well and to look nice. If you guys have any tips on PBR texturing guns it would be much appreciated
I'll be working on it tomorrow to make the materials read better and lessen the 'clean' look as I want it too look heavily used.
Also on the references it looks like there is very little bare metal where pretty much all of it is either plastic or painted metal, so you might want to change the material on the stock and receiver.
thanks I began reducing the bare metal feel
I've also started working in some scratches and wear in the metal and the handle.
I plan to be done before tomorrow and start something new next week
Thanks! I haven't used ddo, it's all made in photoshop. The only software I've used from quixel is ndo2 to convert the handpainted scratches into my normalmap. I'll try to get an AO in, I had some issued before but I'll take another stab at it.
Thanks everyone for leaving feedback
