1. Try to leave at least one critique per post. It makes you a better artist if you have the ability to give constructive critiques. Just because you're working on a different concept piece, doesn't mean you can't give feedback to others.
2. Challenge yourself.
3. Your final presentation should be posed and rendered in real-time. (Marmoset, or game-engine like UE4 or Unity)
4. Try your best to finish on time.
5. Post your work-in-progress in this thread.
6. Specify your own triangle count and texture size. Be reasonable and stick to your budget. Some suggestions are as follows:
Mobile: 2k Triangles, 512 Maps
Low Res: 8k Triangle, 1024 Maps
Mid Res: 16k Triangles, 2048 Maps
High Res: 32k Triangles, 4096 Maps
7. Similar to
#6, you may pick an art-style yourself. You are, after all, an artist too. (Realistic, Stylized, Cartoony, etc)
8. Learn as much as you can. Share what you've learned.

@Turista
Looking good, great start! I'd exaggerate the forms of his head a bit more and shrink the eyes a nudge.
I'm not sure about the shape of his waist, I think he might be a bit to "lean", I think he should be more massive.
@MrCreator
Same crit here as before, careful with the size of his eyes!
Good work for you all. I start tomorrow ^^
@Tigerheart;
your arms seem a but long and feet kinda big, biceps are a bit short.
@juancaratino;
i would make his stance a little for relaxed, like everyone else is doing. it will give you a better base to start adding clothing, muscles and detail in general.
Day 2.
@Turista
Nice progress! You have a lot of sharp indentations, but not as much form. I'd try to build some mass around the creases.
@juancaratino
Backing up the latest crits, I think you'd be better off in a more relaxed pose.
@tigerheart
Your shapes are cool, but I'd still reduce the size of the foreams. The nose is looking to pointy aswell, try and match the lionish look the concepts got.
You say that for rigging purpose?
UPDATE
Hopefully I'll be joining in next week.
here after my first session I got this.
I should keep an eye on portions and masses.
I must admit I Think it look a like he stand on the toes and not so like cat feets.
I stay as long in low poly now and wanted to show it.
I go for middle poly range.
@Turista
nice staff, the wood sculpt comes good alone.
I must admit I like to give critic guys but I cant find any.
problem with doing it like this is that you are forcing your character on a stance in which he requires certain muscles to act differently, so you are sculpting muscles stretched and in positions it wouldn't be if he was in a more relaxed stance.
so with that said, when you do your normals and uvs and texture, the character will always have that extreme pose even if you later on make him stand normally.
@independ-hans
ty still a lot to be done
@taglol
yeah i need to add some more muscle. im still thinking about where i would like this chat to go. so some things might change a little depending what i decide.
@turistas: i keep my arms like that, i think its close to the reference and add some power and wilderness to the character.
@appolo: if you want to rig it, you may want to keep the tail straight.
I did some VERY VERY quick SKIN / Rig test to check this out relax or not, what do you think?
@Turista I really like how you did that staff!
@tigerheart Love it!
This is where im at now, I need some advice on his anatomy, legs especially, bottom part, upper part is not as important because it will be covered with that skirt.
@tigerheart :really love your progress man
I am seeing a lot of good work
@Tigerheart it's coming along nicely and I am loving those hand wrappings
@MrCreator First I don't believe you should be working at 2.7 mil points right now that is way to high for the stage you are at, you should drop down a couple of sub d level and continue working on the basic shape from there. for example my current body mesh is only 100k points, if you are subdividing because of uneven poly distribution try remeshing.
Second you are focusing a little bit to much on the muscles try blocking in the shape a bit more, his wrist and ankles are too thick also the anatomy of his leg is wrong from the concept image he appears to be a digitigrade which means he walks on the front of his feet like the rear leg of a dog or a cat.
Third I am loving that face
I hope this helps you a bit

HOW can upload image at MED resolution?
I dont know if breaking the symmtery is something you do later in the process of making a character, but take care about that face, his mouth are not symmetrical.
Another thing is those braids - beard hanging from his face, they are missing that bottom part
Love your progress btw!
@juancarantino
I dont know if its just me, but I cant see your images, I see text only.
@Xyrtae
Thanks for critiques! I decreased the polycount to 320k (working with dynamesh thats why I got carried away) and I will take some action on those muscles and wrists.. I took care of keeping it simple on his back and arms and got carried away on legs I guess...
NOW FOR EVERYONE (caps just so you all notice - sorry)... This is a question or just my perspective, lets discuss it so we all can make good thing.
I dont think that character stands on his toes and not full foot all the time, if you pay attention on the other foot you can see its completely down (it makes sense to me that it is if you see its position in front). Now, I think he is on his toes on that leg just because he is in that pose, thats why his whole body is bent a bit. I drew over it in PS just so I can explain my point a little bit better.
I just came to comment this right away, will post update of my work later
Now?
Ok...ok , some work on the gloves, Legs muscles, feets and cuadrify muscle like WOW Style, i find MUCH more errors on the belt, I reparare that
i hope you like it
A bit more progress for me:
and..can i post my work on other forums to obtain some critics? to improve?
On the other side
only need some critics to advance, but nothing here
