I've been lurking for a while and since I've essentially finished my first game model, I thought I would share with you all. This character is based on the Dune Universe. Being a fan of the book, I had some ideas about the design in my head. And I also borrowed bits and pieces from some concepts on the internet to fill in some gaps. Which ended with, what I think, is a somewhat unique take on the design. Let me know what you guys think! If you see anything that looks really wrong please let me know. I consider this done but if it's a quick fix and makes sense then by all means I will make the change. Thanks!
Also this is 29k Triangles for the character and props, and two 2k Maps for the character. Another map for the base and weapons/props.
Learned a lot about how I can get the most out of my UVs. For my next model, I will be a lot more creative with the texture space.

Mik, once I read that and looked at my model I was surprised I didn't think of that. I'm glad you caught it. I added more polys to round it out and tried to soften those hard breaks.
 Both of you, thanks again. I think for my next model I will post some WIP stuff so I can get some critiques while I'm not "finished".
My only crit would be that she looks a bit too pretty and full-figured to be a hardened fedaykin warrior. They probably wouldn't be caught dead wearing makeup, either, but you could chalk that up to artistic license :P
Thanks Marcobar! Originally I had no makeup with the character but later decided to throw some on so that the eyes would read better from a distance. I was also going to make her look hardened as well but ultimately decided to keep her more fair. Artistic license definitely got the better of me.
Extra points for noticing the henna inspired detailing.
Being a fan of the series, I'm glad you like it.
I am also a pretty big Dune fan! I'd say what stands out to me is that the whole thing feels really colorful and vibrant, much moreso than I'd imagine for the Fremen. I always imagined them as being kind of spartan and dull colored (except the eyes).
You've also used a fair skinned caucasian woman with red hair...for a desert planet?
I'd imagine them to look darker skinned (tan) and more ethnically Arabic with dark hair & sharp features.
All in all tho, great work!
Well done man !! Topology looks pretty nice.
Look great, well done!
very well done
