3DS Max and rotating UV shells

Hey guys, I have having this issue with max 2014 in the Unwrap UVW Modifier. When doing my final layout pass I often make slight adjustments to the rotation and scale of UV shells/islands (or what ever you want to call them). Most of the time when I make a fine adjustments to the rotation of a shell, max decides that it should just snap back to it's previous rotation. I will rotate something a couple degrees and it will just snap back to the way it was. I can try to do this over and over and it just keeps snapping back. Even rotating it 180 degrees and then some does not prevent it from snapping back to its former orientation. I have tried collapsing and adding the modifier again, turning off snaps, but I can't figure out what causes this. A Google search also reveals nothing useful. This is incredibly annoying and time consuming when a program just does not do what you tell it.

Has any one else run into this issue or know of a fix?
