Hello friends! I digged hundreds armour pictures while searching for main idea and interesting design elements, and finaly i realized that all my attempts to create something unusual and eye-catching is nothing compared to THIS.
Let me introduce you: 'Horned helmet' of Henry VIII
This thing is real. Dated 1510-1515, i hope judges will forgive 10 year period mismatch.
Good news for me - it has many high quality references.
Even turnaround on youtube:

Bad for me - it will be hard to wrap in 1200 tris, but i`ll do my best.

yeah, some real medieval trollface)
Best of luck though, the high poly is looking fantastic. I was wondering though, have you fitted the helmet to the agatha knight head? The neck hole looks a little small (unless the rest of the helmet is scaled to the neck size, too), because you can't alter the chainmail coif, and that got in the way when I made my helmet.
Neck area need adjustment, but nothing critical. I`ll fix it on the lowpoly.
Screen from 3DO, model and normal map applied.
Good work!
Here is the render with matcaps.
Then slightly tweaked lowpoly and tried to achieve similar results in my textures.

There is modern replicas which i used as a close up references. I like overall design and i think that twisted parts will fit with shape of the horns on my helmet.
High-poly is almost ready.
I decided to change leather handle to wire wrap and fully modeled it. just for fun)
