The Somme - World War One / FPS / Realism Simulator

TopHat Game Studios are currently seeking various roles for our upcoming Unreal Engine 4 project, The Somme.

The Company
TopHat Game Studios was founded back in 2011 and is a development team built on a virtual basis. The team consists of past/present professional video game developers and hobbyists who are incredibly passionate about The Somme and it's end goals. We'd like to bring to the attention that all developers that work on The Somme are working on royalty - this meaning that there isn't a monthly wage, alternatively it means that there is an agreed upon profit share in the project. This can be discussed together with applicants in detail. The Somme is our upcoming game that we aim to be our first commercial game as an indie team.

The Game
The goal of The Somme is to realistically portray events that took place during 1914 - 1918, the great war. Our approach in recreating these events is quite different than that of most standard first person (war) games. The principal of our focus is on playable realism, that's why we say simulator. We are creating the environment, weapons, challenges and feeling of the great war's combat at the same time educating people on the severity of the war, while still providing a game that feels fun and comfortable for at least a significant subset of gamers. The idea for realism is to breach the scope of today's shooters and deploy gamers into a world of strategy and conquer.
