Some POD facility environmental progress: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xhw3HgIRl6E Still a lot of meshes missing that I'm bringing into the engine over the next few days.
Ok, so it's still very early days, but I've been getting on with the POD facility: Still a lot of blockout elements to replace and all materials are simple starting points or placeholders.
The external terrain here is entirely placeholder:
Oh, and here's the almost complete base helmet except for no materials/textures of course:
That roll on the landing is very nice and smooth. Amazing So far.
I think it can be improved by having it completely turn around instead of it being sideways. Like in the last video as he lands he should face the 'enemies" so you can do a another rocket launch. It would allow for a super fast gameplay.
The animation for sliding as you land can be reused and you can do a sideways rocket jump or a slide.
Looking awesome as always! I saw you had another video on youtube with the fly as well, I love how the scale accurate environment in the background is turning out.
Stinger drones are so good!!! I am sorry i guess you already said it in the thread but even if i read a lot of it in the past already i can't remember; how many are you working on this? Is it a one guy project? I love it anyway, i look forward to see more really!!
So excited to see insects in there, was really going crazy when the "riding scene" appeared!!! Love the new winged ship design too, so much! Kinda crazy to see so many new stuff every time, good luck for finishing them all, whenever there will be a pre release or whatsoever it will be insta buy for me
Always happy to see posts for this project. I really like the idea, and would love to do battle with ants and grasshoppers, or ride bugs. The dragonfly-copter is great. I'd probably just fly around and look at giant flowers, or wage air battle on a hornet's nest.
Glad you're back to posting stuff here That flying ship looks super cool!! Also i'm glad to see that you started to show other environments, pretty cool to see slightly differents stuffs there (cliffs and such, dirt, space)
The flying ship looks awesome, and really love all the procedural animation.
The one thing that bothers me though is the spline legs on the sphere vehicle never seem to extend far to their full length and always seem curled in on themselves. It just looks awkward.

That's true. This is the only thing that confuses me. Everything else is really outstanding.
Olingova: Thanks. I'll try to start posting here more frequently going forwards PolyHertz: Thanks for the crit, we'll look into that when we do another pass on the leg motion.
I've been doing a bit of work on the Dropship model. Since our vehicles have a lot of damage modelling, the underlying components are important...
Lots going on right now! ... but here's a little teaser of an in engine cinematic currently in progress. We still haven't textured a lot of this and many parts are incomplete... https://youtu.be/_iCrxnFkU2Y
Great to see an update and looking great! Not sure how far along you are on sound design, but the ship engine SFX sound a little too big to me. Looking forward to playing this someday.

Quick update with a block out mesh for the dropship in game:

And some static footage of it, plus a look at some armour panelling I've modelled recently for the POD...

Olingova: There are now two of us working on the project since almost two years ago.
