So would anyone out there be able to give me some help getting stuff in engine. Do I need to have Chivalry downloaded and installed first and then open some of it's content in UDK or something? And do I have to have a certain version of UDK installed as I have one a bit older? Any help would be great thanks!
Once you have Chivalry installed when you launch it from steam there will be a big "open editor" button. On the second page you can launch their version of UDK directly. There are two very thorough tutorials on the same database as the technical specs.

Nice! Thanks, McGuire! I had checked out those tutorials but must have missed where they said about having Chivalry installed.
Wow! Looks great. The back of the head looks a bit too dark though, are those just the shaders from rendering?
I still have no idea what the rules are about weapons matching, or not matching the helmet of a set, but if weapons are supposed to be universal, the blue gem on the sword could be colored a bright gold or silver, idk. Currently, I'm just making my weapons be universal, but adding slight inflections of either mason or agatha.
Very Impressive.
Right now your metal looks really diffuse instead of metaly (real word I promise).
Other than that I really like it, well done.
Also I just noticed your location says Ohio, what parts? I just passed 2 years in Cincinnati.
@zetheros Thanks! Yeah I don't know if the set has to match but I figured if I was doing it as a set I would.
@jackalope Thanks, yeah it is a bit diffuse. The sword doesn't have any spec at the moment, I am still blocking in the diffuse. And yep, I am in Ohio. I am over in the Akron area though.
@Zelfit Whoa there buddy! I think you had a glitch that kept reposting. Like I said, still working on the diffuse and then need to do a spec and all that. But it is pretty blown out. I am planning on maybe like an ivory.
So I plan on finishing the pieces but I feel like I might rush finishing them. Magicspook mentioned today that a lot of the weapons don't comply with the rules. The models need to be more team neutral because both teams will be using the submitted pieces. My models don't work out that great with all the lions and Agathian type coloring. So I may finish these quickly and then move on to try and make something else for this contest....
I wanted to clear up any confusion.
the Agatha specific design of this weapon WILL NOT disqualify it from being considered for the game. please forgive any confusing language from us that might have made you think otherwise.

Thanks, Dylan. Now why is it that there seems to be this confusion? In the questions section, it seemed like they needed to be team neutral but in the rules, it seemed like you could go either way.
yeah I understand how that could be confusing. my answers were trying to say that weapon designs could be team specific. but that directly using team LOGOs or team colors wouldnt be allowed.
I've since removed any reference to this as it seems people are taking that to mean the weapons have to be team agnostic.
really digging the vibe and the style lovely shapes and forms here. My one crit would be on the sword guard and pomel (dark grey areas) the shapes are so crisp and with the shading it is hard to determine what material it is and how it has been constructed. maybe once in UDK with spec and reflect it might pop as metal.
The blood map looks backwards, like there is more blood on the back blade than the front edge. It also looks like it needs to get scaled up some to fit in both hands. Unless you're just using those poses and its a one handed sword

@McGuire - Yeah you're right, the blood map is backward. That should be pretty easy to fix. I was replacing the sword of war and it is the same size as it and they're both two hand swords. It does seem small. I just know on the contest page they say about making the weapons the same length because of the collision. And the knight doesn't have a primary one hand sword unless I am mistaken. I think he only has a secondary one hand sword and I wanted to use it as a primary weapon.
as long as the blade length is the same the feel and gameplay won't change, but you should seriously consider extending the handle so that both hands are gripping it.
Whole set looks really cool and not too fantasy-ish. Helmet even looks like it always was a part of the game.
I think I'd tweak the color of the feathers a little bit though. There's something with that shade of blue that doesn't suit the rest of the outfit. (but I think you probably noticed that too already ^^) Other than that I have to say that the helmet is really really perfect.

Thanks! I am tweaking with the blue color at the moment. Will have some more updates soon.
So if anyone has gotten their weapons or helmet in game or submitted, would you mind taking a look at my naming conventions just to make sure I didn't screw anything up? Thanks!
Hey 9th, this is how I handled the gold on my weapon, I'm pretty happy with how it turned out in engine too. The diffuse is pretty much just dark saturated AO, with more saturation in the shadows. There is very little range in the spec except the nicks which have crud in them. The normal detail matches all the darks/lights in the spec map. Hopefully something helps. Looks decent now though. : )

Thanks for the input. I think it would look good with the knight but once I get it in engine, I will try it with the other classes and take a look.

Thanks. Yeah, it will be more shiny. Once I get it in UDK I can gauge my spec and gloss maps a bit better.

@JO420 Thanks, definitely did so.
And @pior Thanks!
Nevermind, missed those ones with him holding the swords. looking cool
@Noth Yeah those screens are just in the mesh viewer with the socket attachments.
@W4LTRON Thanks! Keep on trucking along..
@JO420 Thanks, I was a little conflicted in a couple early ideas because of that. I think I found a decent balance.
@pity Much appreciated
Thanks soulstice! Much appreciated
@Noth Nice, that looks pretty good, maybe I will give that a try.
@ 9th - cool dude, hope you find something useful.
