WWI Landing Scene

Hi All,

I have been working on this WWI Spad XIII plane for the last couple of months after work. Want to finish this plane up and incorporate it into a landing scene.

WIP pics of the plane right here.

Got a bit tired of working on the high poly of the plane. Still need to make the cock pit, add the attachments for the wires everywhere, detail the legs, add the flap controls and add in the nuts and bolts on the plane and patch up some holes.

So to break it up a bit I decided to start modeling the guns that I will be mounting on top of the plane. Vickers machine guns.

Trying new workflow that incorporates zbrush for some quick boolean operations.

Let me know what you think or things I should watch out for.

You seem to be missing the tail skid. The wooden braces connecting the fuselage to the upper wing are missing the third piece, and the pieces are angled rather than vertical. There should be a pair of bracing wires between the fuselage and the landing gear. Finally, there should be a horizontal brace between the two inner wing braces.

If you're going for a highly detailed aircraft, then remember to add the curvature around the individual ribs on the wings. The connections between the wires and the frame are fairly complex, but I'm not sure the effort of modelling them is justified; it depends on your final image, I suppose. The wires and control horns for the control surfaces (ailerons, elevators, rudder) might be worth modelling.

    Hi

Are you selling your model of the Vickers? I am after a model that I can get printed out in 3d for a 1/16th scale model of a Sopwith Camel.
