Hi. I'm an independent programmer, and I'd like to introduce you to
MayaFPS. MayaFPS is a plug-in for Autodesk Maya which allows you to navigate the perspective camera using traditional first person shooter controls (WASD+mouse). These controls are especially useful for level designers using Maya and other complex scenes. It's being used by a few well-known game studios as well as individual artists. Have a look:
MayaFPS is free for non-commercial use.
Feedback is welcome. I really appreciate the feedback you've given me about
Curver, you guys are AWESOME!

True, but MayaFPS is more versatile and supports older versions of Maya. Also, the Walk Tool requires a shortcut to get into, and a shortcut to get out of, unlike other navigation tools in Maya. This makes it quite inconvenient to use as the main navigation tool while working on a large scene like a game's level. MayaFPS on the other hand is activated by a mouse button and deactivated by releasing that button, so it acts very similar to the "native" navigation tools and will not break the workflow at all.
