The Jackal (AKA Faith's Knife) WIP

Does anyone have any feedback before I start playing with the low poly? Go nuts. I like level design but I can't find any work for it without getting better at modeling since most places I'm looking at combine environmental modeling with the level layout and scripting. Trying to get better, but I don't really know if I love trying to model anything more than a few props.

[Edit: Someone brought up a point I forgot to mention. I had a version with that nub at the end, but I felt the knife looked better without it so I just scrapped that piece. Also, looking at the turn table I noticed I should have the claw on the hilt more tapered, sort of like a canine tooth.]

very nice blade u have there, just wandering on the reference image it has a spike at the bottom of the blade on the handle, where yours is more shaped like a gun trigger.

Thanks. I was going to mention that and I forgot. I'll edit it in. I had it on there, but I thought it looked better without it so I just scrapped it.

now that i look at yours i think it looks better the way you have shaped it, seems to flow more(looks more stylish).

I was playing with the high poly some more and tapered the spike on the hilt. I redid the blade as well as I noticed some weird loops I had in the original high poly. I spent a while trying to fix it before I just realize it would be easier to start again.

I just threw on some quick materials just to get a better feel on how it may look. Nothing material wise is anywhere near permanent.

I'd like to do the low poly relatively soon so if anyone wants to point out anywhere I screwed up I'll fix it up first.

The tear shape at the bottom stands out as being very different than the reference. Is that intended?

I'm not entirely sure which piece you're referring to. If you get the chance could you point it out and I'll try and take care of it.

    Thanks for the response.

He meant the part between the blade and the handle, the tear-like shape on the bottom. The same thing you did to that spike should be applied on the tear (make it pointy).
