Hey Wendy, thanks for the crit! Given that the high placement of the eyes isn't always 100% intentional, I think you're right with the experimenting. I'll have a bit of a fiddle!
The androgynous/"mannish" females and "effeminate" males themselves are quite intentional, though. It's not a concern of mine nor something I do by accident and wish to "fix".
That's fair enough. I don't think there is anything wrong with an androgynous look. I just think that variety is the spice of life, and worth exploring in art!
41 is private (though will be available through other means later hopefully).
So.
I’m done! I reached my goal with 42 finished pictures (or, close to,
haha). I can firmly say my goals of finishing more work, understanding
the whole process and feeling more confident in approaching color and
painting are met, and I’m ready to move on to other, greater things. No plans to stop posting and studying, of course!
I forgot how to post here. But here's a highlight reel of the last few months. probably heavy on the loading. IDK if I should just make a new thread for current projects or something, it's almost been a year. A lot of these are commissions, but the characters on sheets are my designs. cheers dudes
In this one I think the rough strokes on the chin \ jaw line are too thick and for me they read as a black beard when I saw it at the avatar size. When I saw the larger version I understood they're just loose strokes, but unless it's intentional I'd clean up that part a bit, making it more like the jaw line in this:
Cheers, @RN ! Didn't notice that at all, great catch. I get sloppy with my personal work sometimes, but it certainly wasn't intentional. While I was doodling I made a line that matched his intended jawline better, but didn't bother to neaten it up. Does this fix it?
Also, a doodle for a design contest!
EDIT: Also I should mention, this critter is a Chimereon, a species is designed by Seel Kaiser who you can find over here: https://twitter.com/seelnose

Here's an old commission that I've just been allowed to post:
