3x30" hanging over a giant maple slab. 3 30" monitors is overkill for productivity and I am planning to make simpler stands and only use two of them.
ever try 3 monitors vertically for productivity?
Particularly if u code and refer to a lot of reference material vertical is great with graphics in the middle.
Also squashes the field of view so all material is visible at once.
I'd personal love to have 3 monitors, one for actual work, one with reference images and content, or for those apps that need 2 screens, and the third for music, videos, and web browsing
How you manage to keep your desks soooooo clean? o_O
I always end up with tons of garbage that I don't need laying around.
I get pissed off when my desk is cluttered and I bump into things / space/movement issues. Since the desk is smaller than I'm used to i got far less room to utilize.
Define too expensive.... You can get that cheap korean one for like $350, but its got a really, really basic stand: [ame="http://www.amazon.com/CROSSOVER-27QW-IPS-LED-2560x1440/dp/B00EZM7GCY"]Amazon.com: CROSSOVER 27QW IPS LED 27" LG AH-IPS Ultra Slim 2560x1440 QHD DVI-D (Dual-Link) PC Monitor: Computers & Accessories[/ame]
You knownwhat. Not sure if a 27 inch is worth it anyhow.
Might as well get a new 24inch and have 2.
Even tho i currently onky use one 23inch at 1080p. Sucks to have to minimize windows so I can have more real estate

a 27inch would offer plenty of screen real estate though. first time i can really live with the 3ds max UI not spilling over to the secondary screen or even with the thought that one monitor is enough for working. if you decide to get one look out for the display flicker issue that apparently plagues some displays.
i went with an Eizo EV2736WFS because of this. downside is the very basic connectivity compared to the dell's.
I recommend the 27 inch if your looking in the field of higher resolution, 2560x1440 is set for 27'' while the 30'' having 2560x1600 *that extra screen real estate is great*. As with Earthquake response I highly recommend the IPS/Ultrasharps there a bit expensive and not meant for much gaming but have some great color.
Should have taken a picture of my whole room but was to lazy to clean it all
The korean ones are really good for the money. Same panels as you find in the mainstream manufacturers monitors, good driver electronics, but generally ugly bezels and stands. You can also find them on ebay and monoprice.
Sky: I looooove that underlighting behind your monitors! Have been thinking of getting an LED strip to install under the shelf above my monitors. Are those bendy things lights too? Or speakers? Either way, awesome setup!
Love seeing everyone's desks!
and btw, i like to keep my home space clean. Ants suck

Heresy. There is no such thing as too many monitors!

Personally, I'd go with the Asus. Has a huge number of adjustment settings
http://www.overclock.net/t/1311936/asus-pb278q-the-official-2560x1440-semi-glossy-pls-thread
Edit: Hmm, apparently the Asus uses PWM. I haven't really experienced any of the negative effects described but just something to keep in mind.
I would probably go with an IPS dell tho: http://accessories.ap.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=au&l=en&s=dhs&cs=audhs1&sku=210-ABME
This dell and the ASUS above both use a Samsung PLS (IPS equivilent) panel, very likely the same exact panel.

Let's be honest now, this is what everyone's desks looked like 10 mins before the pictures were taken.
