I think I'll replace the PNGs with jpgs because I do notice a difference in loading time. Maybe also turn on progressive loading and maybe reducing the quality a bit? Depends on what loading times people are getting.
I hate progressive JPGs myself. Regular JPGs should be fine, just use your best judgement. For my own portfolio I compress them to about 75% quality, good tradeoff between size and quality.
I wanted to add a few links in for some great tuts in Substance Designer. This one in particular is a great introduction to the more commonly used texture methods in SD without focusing on programming or logic. Gives quick and great results as well.
The number one rule of wiki editing is to be bold. Go ahead - make changes. Other people can correct any mistakes you make, so have confidence, and give it a try!
I don't have so as much time at the moment to actually add and modify stuff, however got some small breaks while working and can check if pages needs editing. Do we have some kind of tag to use on the page to quickly mark it for editing/updating?
Yeah, I know, however some seem to more obvious then others, and it's easier to find if they are marked to be edited.
I just randomly ran into a page which has the "{{:OutOfDate}}" in the top, maybe that's the one we are using/can use for this?
EDIT: I also found another thing that might work, however it might only be for the old wiki:
<<Include(OutOfDate)>>
Okay. Btw, do you know how to create a category link, where the text has a space in it, without it going red link? I tried to change a category link in a space from "TextureType" to "Texture Type", since it has changed, but the link keeps staying as a red link.
EDIT: Note that I also tried with underline, and still the same result. Category:Texture Types
Yes, but the point was that there is a page for Texture Types, however when I changed the link for it, it doesn't work. I used Category:Texture_Types and its not red link now, since it does link to the page you created, however what about this page: http://wiki.polycount.com/wiki/Texture_Types

I don't want to sound too anal, but consistency for article titles is important.
No problems, glad to say. I'll ask cheeseplus what's the status with open registration. Anyone should be able to make an account and edit, that's one of the goals for the new wiki.
Well, I think we just have to go thru one by one and delete the unused ones, comparing them to the current user list. There's no easy way to determine this automagically, afaik, requires human eyeballs. I guess what you really want here is an Orphan list that only lists "real" pages, which need links to them added on other pages?

I was thinking of making a subcategory in texturing.
So like
Texturing > Substance Designer
Texturing > DDO
Something like that?
Don't wanna mess up the wiki on my first edit
josh_lynch did some great tutorials on lesser known features in NDO that I feel would benefit the community.

Everything is undo-able.

Unfortunately I don't have much time either.

I'd rather not have people going through and marking pages for others (or themselves) to edit later.
Those tend to stay dirty, as shown in the old wiki.
Better just to fix or add as you like, bit by bit. Imho.
EDIT: Note that I also tried with underline, and still the same result.
Category:Texture Types
I just made one for Category:Texture Types.
You can't rename a Category though. Just have to fix every page that uses the old one, re-pointing them to the new one. Some info here

The old category page can mostly be found here, I don't think there's anything missing. Category pages are populated by any articles that have Category:CategoryName in the footer.

I keep forgetting to ask, how are things looking on the spam front?

There's some pages older than the internet hiding in there!
