Cool man, you have some nice details in there. Anatomy wise there are a few problems, especially in the hips. He would have to be deformed bow legged and have a tiny waist to fit in there. I imagine you didn't use a anatomical figure to build around this suit?
Also I think the background is very distracting and hurting your presentation. In general you never want to use a solid black background and the light coming from behind like that is killing your silhouette and making him not read well.
Technically, there is a lot of neat stuff happening and it looks like you spent a lot of time and care on this. So good job man!
[edit] I just re-read your post and you said this character is your first. I would suggest if you want to make more characters really start learning anatomy. Even on a fully clothed thick armor kind of guy you can see threw if there are flaws. Its really the most important thing when trying to make a character look appealing.
One hundred bagillion times infinite plus 7000^15 times pi better, it's pretty sweet! Nice work!
I tried to math that. I think I broke something important doing it.
Looks pretty damn good with the beauty shot now. Hides the smaller leg problems enough that someone not trained to hunt it down will most likely not notice immediately, since the helmet and the brighter colors of the upper body draw a lot of focus.
Xaragoth i agree with you the legs seems smaller but in reality is not , i modeled all the part using an accurate basemesh , i think its the textile layer that show it smaller . Thanks a lot for pointing this
