long hours playing 30fps give me headaches and eye strain.
gaming must have been hell for you up until this generation (not that 60fps will be standard, but still, let's pretend)
I applaud you for sticking with it for so long
Growing up playing the original NES Castlevania games, THIS is what I always imagined the Castlevania series should've morphed into.
The game looks fantastic, I love the Souls series. The difficulty, intentionally vague story and quirky characters give them a distinctly Japanese feel.
Yeah, that no trailer is amazing. Shows so many interesting locales and creatures. I'm so excited for this.
There's also this ~30 minutes of gameplay out there, but it's all stuff form the last gameplay trailer we saw, and it's kind of painful to watch because the players are terrible. It should at least put to bed the idea that the game will be easy.
I also came across this article, it's the ONLY article to say this so take it with a grain of salt but apparently they made big improvements to the engine and have surpassed their 30fps goal and are moving to 60fps. If so, I'll be a happy camper.
I'm really excited for a lot of the games that were shown off today, I'm definitely going to grab a PS4 and a WiiU in 2015. Hopefully I can get time to enjoy everything!
Hmm, from what I understood it's just one of them that is going to be procedurally generated (the Chalice Dungeon). It's a really cool idea and could be great for coop/end game. However, I hope that the core of the game is still meticulously designed. I loved learning and mastering the levels in DaS and I do not wish to see that gone.
However, some level of randomness would be great. I'd love to see roaming enemies and other dynamic events to keep you on the edge. Maybe they could finally add some roaming mid-bosses, similar to how Black Knights were supposed to work in DaS.
indeed, it raises a lot of questions about how coop is going to work, whether it's with level ranges or an invite system for the first time ever
I'm glad it increases the longevity of the PVE side of the game though, as the PVP has always added hours of playability to the souls line of games anyway
The game looks great, but I lasted maybe 2 minutes into the video. Now that they're showing so much I really need to tune out and do a blind playthrough when the game comes out.

Yea. Although i appreciate they keep showing the same area of the demo. But with a different lighting.
I thought this game was coming end of Feb, but now its March. darn it. I am so excited for this game.
It's still slightly shocking that we're finally going to get a Souls-ey game that looks up to date. I've come to expect lower productions values from these games due to their niche status. It's crazy that this type of game is now mainstream enough for Sony/From to justify such an investment and to market it so heavily.
The war crimes I would commit to be able to work on a project with art direction like this...
I wonder though, if they're going for a consistent environment throughout the game, or if they're attempting to merge multiple, different environments together like they did successfully with the original Dark Souls.
I'm personally cool with the former, it's like a nightmare vision of the city I live in.
Looking forward so much to this game, now just need to grab a PS4. ^ Yeah, the art direction for this seems like a dream, although they probably used Dark Souls as a base to begin with.
Random events would be great, looking forward to that, esp if they are doing the procedural dungeons.
So keen for this game, literally counting down the days even though I have an assignment/ presentation due on the same day and have barely made any progress lol

Now this one is cool, it's a hack that shows other areas and even a boss not meant to be seen.

Had to post this gif of the cthulhu looking giant spider. So hyped for this game.
Looks fantastic, and i think they actually have day and night cycle.
Counting down the days Can't wait.

Dev making stuff. Nice to see Xnormal in the BG
well there were some bad versions...
only the cinematic (pre-rendered) department uses motion builder I think
...and some music to whet the appetite:

Hype.

oh my gaw!!!!!! YES! im getting a ps4 for this game!
The scythes in the last 3 games weren't all that great. I hope this one's different
but having to wait 35+ seconds between deaths, seem like a long time.
I too am counting the days but we British don't get it till Friday T.T
From the spoilers I've read it's well received so far! The level design being the top of the mark.
