This game looks beautiful, insta-buy for me ! I'm talking about it to everyone who didn't watch E3 and i probably watch it like 50 time already. It looks like everything I love from a game. Beautiful, magic, great story/adventure and great music. Can't wait for it.
I don't know if you though about it, but i would totally buy an screenshot/art/concept/sketch artbook from you guys ! (even more if it comes with a poster of the scene with the giant tree)
I have just one thing to say.. Please tell me the shadow guy isn't dead ;_; (Yes I almost cry during trailer, damn me and my sensitive hormone!)
you don't really want story spoilers this early, do you?

now the interview on youtube
so what can we see in this demo?
super smooth pixel perfect gameplay, i know this is an art forum ad the team worked hard to make it look nice - but the game could sand on its own without any art. i truly mean it
in general the gameplay is about giving you control again - almost no checkpoints, you save yourself!
If you die its on you, not clunky controls - the game is to me really the most direct plattformer i ever played
seamless world, no loadingscreens at all you can run through the whole world in one run
2 of many abilities unlocked, bisedes jumping and running you will learn plenty of more ways to move through the world. spirit flame (the basic weapon) and walljump
a skilltree for further character advancement and making the movement flow so much more
So if you are at E3 go play it, seeing many people play it now is so awesome
I saw this via livestream at the microsoft press conference together with my sister... and both of us screamed out "BEAUTIFUL!" at the same time, haha. It brought us to tears.. because of the cuteness, the beauty and the sad elements.
When the little spirit discovered, that his "mommy" is ill (or dying?) it reminded me a loooot of Simba from the Lion King at Mufasas death, which is great... since it has this heart breaking feeling!
Great work everyone! Can't wait for this game... sadly I don't own a Xbox One...
Hopefully this will be ported to PC...
This game truly looks and feels magical, everything seems so perfect and the more information I see, the more I want to play it now! Great job to everybody involved in this amazing project!
Very nice work and great art direction! Reminds me of one of Thomas' early concept games he made, I think when he still was at Blizz. Good luck with the game, hope you sell a lot and all get rich and fat and happy!
I'll definitely buy this once it releases on pc. Instantly fell in love with the looks and atmosphere.
Neox out of curiosity, what was your role in the making of this?
Wow Neox it looks breathtaking, when I saw the E3 videos i thought finially a great new side scroller again and it just looks amazing.
Also nice to hear you were able to work on something like this, I think there will be a lot more positve reactions, especially after seeing the gameplay. So much atmosphere in what I've seen yet!
I hope all of you enjoy the game - we've been going crazy on trying to polish absolutely everything. It was so great to see how people reacted to it at E3 - We got 16 Best of Show Awards and lots of praise from journalists.
And I'm especially happy that it receives a lot of praise in forums like this one. Ori and the Blind Forest is a very 'personal' project to all of us, so seeing all the positive response from peers makes everyone at Moon super happy.
I hope there's some deluxe pre -order bonus like an OST and a concept art book ( A girl can dream right ? damn i want a concept art book pleasee)
Guys,
Just make sure that you bug Steffen, Johannes and Max about that...
And yes, we will be releasing an OST to Ori and the Blind Forest - Even live recorded by an orchestra. I hope some of the musicians will have tears in their eyes while playing Gareths music )
:poly141:
I'm just thinking in terms of other artbooks I own right now.
Maybe some breakdowns of a few scenes (2,5 D), The iterations of the characters.. how you established the art style in general..
You probably experimented until you came to this final art
Some prop designs?
Don't know if you have some color/mood compositions with a few explanations on why you chose a color..
Basically.. don't forget to put in explanations I'm the kind of person that wants to know the thought process
I'd like to see:
Early concepts and evolution, in terms of evolution of the main character(s), from first ideas to finished designs.
Also some early environment concepts compared to the finished levels.
And maybe some single probs and in the best case with a few word about how you tackled the project and how you did the environment art (like some example sheets) and characters.
All those things that are beautiful to watch and give you some knowledge at the same time. Like breakdowns and stuff.

lol you fucker!
An artbook would be really amazing. And totally worth it.
