Ok back in the days when I used Maya 9 batch rendering was slow but my standard were much lower, and I had a weak computer. But come on its 2014 why is batch rendering so much slower then the buffer. I come from a background of first using Maye then switching to Max then going back to Maya. But I mean Max does not have this issue then I batch render in that program it uses my processors fully, true my computer was disabled but it got the renders done quickly.
yes I did my research here and manually set my default thread count to the max of my computer
No other threads say any other way to fix this
Come on guys I really want to believe that Maya is better then max because so many people keep telling me so.

Maya bakes fine (except for AO perhaps), and baking and rendering are two different things
What are you trying to render? And what renderer are you using? I dont remember it as being particularly slow, unless the FG and GI were off the charts
Also, do you close maya while it batches?
How long does it take for one frame?
I could but I prefer it to give everything its got when rendering.
Its about 25% slower render then if i did it in the buffer
Hmm, thats weird. I dont think I can help you with that, im afraid.
My guess is that the first frame in batch render takes longer because it writes indirect illumination maps on hard disk to reuse it for the following frames in the sequence.
When I bake lightmaps, the first frame takes long time to render, but the rest renders surpisingly fast.
Who told you this -_-
Must be them animators!
Only explanation
@everyone else: yes most people that say its better are animator, but also special FX guys, Personally I like max more, but this is a much bigger discussion done in so many other forums.
