"It is absolutely insane the amount of top quality content that is being produced every single time here on Polycount. It's great to see so many cosmetics deliver not just on the technical end but also make for such great fittings in every other branch. You guys are doing an exceptional job and contests like this are only helping boost that exponentially. Brilliant stuff."
Wykrhm Reddy"It was bloody hard picking from this list, I honestly enjoyed all of the entries. Keep up the good work guys!"

Wow, that's really awesome. Please keep us at Valve informed so we can help draw attention to the winners, progress threads, etc.
Some advice:
Try to give some attention to heroes that are under-served so far (in terms of amount of content).
The success of sets tracks well with the popularity of the hero. (Although popularity can vary between updates and as Icefrog changes balance.)
Look for heroes that the community seems to have trouble creating content for. Good work can really open up the design landscape and help people think about the dynamic range of potential designs.
Don't forget about single items (instead of full sets). Many of the most popular items in the game are single items. Mounts and weapons make good candidates for this, but it varies by hero.
Mix up these approaches. So maybe one month you do a popular hero and another month you do a hero that has few items.

I love you guys for doing this! Dota2 is my favorite game at the moment and Polycount is my favorite community! I'm very proud to be apart of such dedicated artists and I smile every time I see some Polycount work in game
-coots7Presentation
the presentation is a really important part on the workshop, save some time before the deadline for that. the first impression means a lot on the workshop.
If you want to fancy your presentation here is a the polycount logo over the aegis, there is no need of it to be used

I'm going to sculpt the whole set today hopefully and try to get it all baked and ready for texturing tomorrow afternoon.
my bad with that man!
now he is =]
Gonna get in this month with a magnus set I just finished sketching. Dunno about the horn , might change it , but I preety much like the shapes so far
@Mihal, I like those stone shapes you have a lot. I'm not quite sure about the way the horn connects to his face though. You can still see his chapped hole underneath there.
Vayne4800: ty
Zipfinator : Its covered by the horn as seen below
when you import a fbx in 3dmax , you gotta put "centimerers" in the importer
Its most likely 100 times smaller
hope that helps
2.54 times smaller!
This is what I was looking at while working; you can see the grid right between his front legs. By which I tell that he is about 10 times bigger than the grid.
And this is the scale after re-importing the original mag_body with centimetres. After exporting my item to DOTA 2 it still shows up as seen in the first image.
Set the scene properties (rmb in window?) to generic units.
Import the fbx as centimeters and export centi I believe.
I believe I fixed the scale issue. If I export a simple box, it only works If I export the bone with it. Now whenever I export my wrist item alone It shows up on the ground and doesnt move. If I export the geometry together with the wrist_L bone it moves with the animation but its offset above as shown on the image.
Edit: I managed to fixed it in place. But it only works if I export the geometry and bone together.
Always wanted to make a Treant set.
Also, If someone can give me a link or tutorial how to make Cloth in DOTA 2.
I assume people use Flex but further instructions will be helpful.
Yeah, I thought if its Valve concept they wouldn't mind if I create a set from it. I guess its not stealing of copyright since they will benefit from it right? Tell me where I can ask them please
^ obviously not done
triffid venomancer. only a loose idea on what to do for veno himself. similar frill i suppose
as a feedback I think the horns could be thicker and maybe just one . and the helm seems a bit tall on his head . ( valves concept has a slimmer dude wearing it )
I finished the blockout , hopfully gonna finish the hi poly tomorow
glad to see a lot of work in progress =] great work guys
first time making a lowpoly from zbrush and it's daunting. I'm using zphere to topo. Don't know how I'm supposed to do it. Just under 900 polys so far, so I guess I'm close.
Any crit or suggestions are welcomed! Lovely sets in here so far!
danpaz3d: looking good:)
An update on the textures for the top half
great progress on the uv tetris!you are going to get a lot more resolution now!
edit : tested it ingame ( the poly limits on some parts are brutal:) )
Please tell me if you are seeing something wrong! Have a great day people!
