Hello Polycount!
I've run into an issue when I'm using stencils on a wall piece I've been working on.
The issue is that when I apply the stencil and sculpt over it I get this weird grid looking thing over everything I brush over:

I've been using a custom alpha to make my stencil so at first I figured there was something wrong with the image I used, but with a standard zBrush alpha I got the same issue:

Has anyone experienced similar issues? I've been searching both these forums and google but haven't found any solutions to the problem. I'm fairly new to the process of using stencils in zBrush so there could be something I've missed.
Does anyone know what might be causing these artifacts?

I tried useing the stencil just as it poped up on the screen (I did not move or scale it) but I still get these grid-like artifacts. I figured something might've been messed up with my installation but reinstalling zBrush didn't work, nor did reinstalling my OS. The alpha works fine if I use it by itself, but as soon as I turn the alpha into a stencil I get this problem.
What I do when I create the stencil is that I pick a alpha, go to the alpha menu and press "Make St". Did I miss any setting or is this the way it's supposed to be done?
Here's the result:
