Tnis thread is great for the character artists around here! But I'd love to see more environments, landscapes, architecture though Thanks to all the great concept artists proposing their pieces here!
Hello everyone. I am a new member here at polycount (as a 2d oriented person I always thought polycount to be more of a 3d site, but as I see now there are a lot of great concept artists and painters here). I do have a number of unused concepts that I've done purely for practice. So if anyone would like to use them for practice or just for inspiration you are more than welcome.
hey this is an amazing thread and an amazing idea! I had these 3 concepts made a while back not sure if there is enough information to make them to 3d but I'll try.
i am new to all this, this is my fist time using photoshop i'm a causal pencil artist but here is my concept scifi assault rifle for my class i would love to hear tips on how to improve ... and seeing 3D model would be amazing
The barrel placement doesn't make any sense IMO. The reason for this is that a lot of weapons get most of their length from the barrel (and potentially stock) as it needs to pretty long to insure accuracy. If it's supposed to fire bullets your weapon would be very inaccurate due to the short barrel, there is no clear ejection port, no clear placement for the ammunition (maybe you put into the handle similar to many pistols, I don't know) and the scope is probably placed too far back and too high compared to the barrel.
It's decently made but when you start thinking about how it'd work it starts breaking down real quick.
that makes a lot of sense i guess i was just drawing with out thinking how the gun will work. thanks ,for my next one i will have that in mind and thanks again ... i will post more
Here is a fighter / spaceship design language i've been doodling on for the past few weeks. None of the concepts were directly used for the illustration but all contributed some visual language to it. For me this is going to be a well that I will return to in the future as I think there are unique aspects that are worth following through. But until then I figured I would dump what I had here in case anybody wanted to get their hard surface on!
I was wandering the internet in search of an interesting concept to practice on, and I found this forum. There are some really cool concepts here! Anyways, I spent a little time doing a model from a concept by arixxle. What do you think?
here is my second weapon concept please tell me your opinions and how can i improve.
Hi rafa i've made a 3D model after you concept. I'ts not exactly the same but i tryied . It has no textures because i'm not the best at texturing burt if you want the model to apply some textures jusk leave me a message. Here's some pictures.
Hello everyone I would love to share this guy with you all!
fell free to model it! if you do have any interest, feel free to contact me if you would like to develop the character some more!
Hey, here's some stuff I've done recently that I could possibly throw into the mix.
Disclaimer: These first two characters are property of HiRez Studios
I really like your designs! I'm taking a crack at the blue steampunk-ish animal guy with the tag like earrings. I'm newer to 3D modeling, and I'm giving it a go with the sculpt feature in Blender. I'll post a link when I have something more finished.
Just a daily practice but someone got use out of the last thing I sketched so it inspired me to put more stuff here.
Wow! I really like this design Greg. I think I'll start to model it in 3D when I finish the house in which I'm working right now. I'm still a beginner so don't expect an awesome work haha

Hey man I totally love the concept, so I began recreating it in 3D. Check out my thread if you're interested: http://www.polycount.com/forum/showthread.php?t=152456

Oh, and please excuse the quality of my work. Digital art is not my forte, and this is my first concept piece.
I really would love to see this as a 3D piece!!!
I am primarily a 3D artist, but I've decided to go back to what got me wanting to work in games in the first place. Drawing!
I have a bunch of thumbnails and roughs I'm working on at the moment, but here's my first finished piece. I'd LOVE any critical feedback
