If you don't know who is she or what the hell I am talking about here you go :

Okay so what I think about is:

- Model/draw/ render her as any type of character you want. She could be:

- A mecha pilot
- An angel descending to battlefield
- A super hero with secret identity

or simply a cute prosecuter which she already is.

No style or technical restrictions. Main goal is to have fun while making great art ! :D

Only restriction would be time I suppose. After deciding what to do we would agree on a deadline and then start working !

So what are you people's take on this ? Would you be interested to make something about something that recent and fun ? :D

Looking forward to see the reaction :D

Can't be complete without this. :D:D:D

I understand the fun aspects of this, but she's a prosecutor of a state that has some considerable legality issues. Like, the EU and the USA does not even accept its existence, they say that Russia has invaded a free country in an act of war. And Putin is using sexism to trick people into accepting this.

    Just some food for thought...

I'd join this and make maybe a bust or half body up. There're still something else that eat away my time.

Should be a lot of fun though.

@vargatom I think I understand where you're coming from. But nothing should stop an artist from making a contribution when he/she can if one wants to. I can sculpt Natalie Portman if I want to. I can sculpt Nicolas Cage, I can sculpt Churchill, I can sculpt Stalin, and I can sculpt Poklonskaya.

Yeah, I'm really not into idolizing this lady any more than I could give a thumbs up to idolizing a member of the Vichy Republic or the regional government of Manchuko.

She may be cute but she belongs in prison at the Hague.

Art is driven by taste... and I have to state publicly that at least from my point of view this is kind of in very bad taste.

Relax people. It is not about politics it is about cuteness :D

You see, when people of Otaku culture saw that there is actually someone that is both "kawaii" and still in a responsible position it was a moment of " Holy Pandas ! They exist !" :D

It is nothing more nothing less than this. Of course if an artist who has a very bad opinion about her can not picture her as a beatiful piece of art. But then again why not model jher as a comic book villian in this case ? :D:D:D

It is just whatever you guys see fit actually. As long as it is not insulting and/or offensive to the real person it is okay in my opinion.

For what? She hadn't committed any crime (no criminal background). You might as well call Snowden a traitor and say that he belongs in prison at the Hague for exposing the US government listening in on its own citizens thus breaking the Constitution: the Right of Privacy.

Now this is ridiculous to the point I want to laugh. Where are you getting your information from? Whatever your source is, it's not objective. Poklonskaya has been a prosecutor in Ukraine for over 10 years. She just won't obey the orders of self-proclaimed and russophobic government in Kiev which was never even elected by the people.

If you're against Poklonskaya, then you're supporting this neo-nazi scum:

I find it in bad taste and really infantile. And don't say that it's not about politics. You are not living in the void.

Also this thread holds opinions like:

...sooooo burn this thread with fire.

Well, I was a little worried that it might come to this. Goes to show just how controversial the entire issue is.

    CALM DOWN people !

I am saying it again in capitals !:

It is NOT about political events IT IS about making art and having a ton of fun while doing it WITHOUT INSULTING/ OFFENDING ANYBODY during process.

It is perfectly okay if you are not interested or having very negative opinions about the person. Then go ahead and make a comic book type of villain. Blow off some steam ? ( Of course not INSULTING/OFFENDING the person)

This is not about Crimea/Russia ect... this is about a cute prosecutor who appeared and charmed a lot of people on the net and caused lot of art ! :D

Heheh, I think you inadvertently brought up an interesting subject here TAN. :)

Without making sweeping generalizations about otaku culture or politics, I think this particular project would be a bit sexist. Considering the political and social context of the subject, there's no way an artist could depict this specific person and expect it to be received as (a) "prosecutie" by an adult audience.

That being said, it could certainly be received as a caricature either in favor or against her cause. But it wont be seen as a cute blonde in a suit.

So why does it have to be her? Why not just a cute lawyer?

::Correction, see Shiniku's post below... I need coffee.::

Why not try something like the daily sketches on CGTalk where someone comes up with a subject, in this case "the cute lawyer", and everyone makes their own depiction? The key is that the subject is not a real person.

This reminds me somewhat of a contest from a few years ago where (I think) someone wanted a bunch of artists to draw him a girl, locked in a collar, with a tentacle wrapped around her holding the key. Initially people laughed since it was an obvious ploy by this guy to get artists to draw him porn, but then they said, "Meh, fuck it, could be fun!" and it appeared on every major art forum.
Uhm... kinda got your facts out of whack there. The contest was held by Serge Birault on his facebook page to remake one of his sketches in 3d. He is a very successful and well known artist with a large following, and the contest entries were getting a lot of attention, which is how the contest caught on. I don't think he needed people to make porn for him.

Otherwise I agree on most of your points.

There are political connotations with this whether you like it or not, and turning this woman into a character just because she's cute seems a little insulting/sexist seeing as how she's probably worked hard to get to where she is, and this is just generalizing her based on appearance.

Well I just wanted to see a recent popular characterization event in my area of interest and I wanted to bring up here :D

I get your points perfectly. Being cute shouldn't be the only point. But would that count as "sexism" ?

I mean just liked you said she probably worked her but off to get this rank but ours is just an ...admiration maybe ? Don't know the right wor here :D

Of course we should also respect other prosecutors who are strict looking, over their forties man ! NO DESCRIMINATION ! :D

But Now that you mention it Equanim. HELL ! Why not !?

So maybe we should just turn this into a " Prosecutor's Challenge" just like you said ? Man that would be fun too :D

What do you people think ?

She's cute, who cares. People get so butthurt about anything and want to be politically correct to the point insanity. For fucks sake have some fun. I find it offensive how up-tight some of the people on Polycount are about the most absurd topics. Putting up little rules for what you should or shouldn't do because of "she worked hard to get there". That literally has nothing to do with her being cute. Should I only draw ugly unsuccessful girls? Maybe we should only draw people for X reason. If you put those kind of rules on your life over something that trivial then that is a waste.

I dunno, I think she was named prosecutor exactly because she's a pretty young woman. Pretty simple PR, but judging by for example some of the posts here, it definitely worked.

If I am to create her, which I want to and I will, it's because I like her appearance. I don't care if she's a prosecutor or a Ph.d or a McDonald employee. A person's attractive appearance has nothing to do with working hard or being successful. Heck, a lot of Macy's minimum wages associate are super cute. I'm not saying her cuteness is her best accomplishment she has done, I'm saying she's cute and that's why I wanna create her.

If you want to create successful ppl who work hard, go make Bill Gates or Steve Jobs or w/e.

I'm not saying she's a nice or a good or a kind person. All I'm saying is "OMGWTF LOOK AT HER FACE!!! THAT FACE, MAN. THAT FACE!!! LET'S US MAKE HER PLZ PLZ PLZ!"

While it's extraordinarily creepy, I guess if it gets people paying attention to world events, it's probably ultimately a positive thing.
