Windows Explorer crash from crytif

Hi guys,
I'm having an issue with crytif files. Whenever I try and open a folder in the windows explorer that contains a tif (crytif specifically) file it crashes. Now I've set my folder options to display icons, never thumbnails but this hasn't fixed the issue.
This also causes 3ds Max and Photoshop to crash when navigating for a crytif file.
I recently reformatted my computer and never had this issue in the past.

Any ideas would be very helpful. I'm pulling my hair out over here!

Edit: Still crashing, far less often though. I'm not sure what my next move is in fixing this, will update if I find a resolution.
