I'm trying to use the alpha channel of a targa file to cut out portions of the hair bangs for a character. So I plug the file's outAlpha (with Alpha is Luminence checked) into the shader's transparency RGB via the Connection Editor and it makes the entire hair object semi-transparent as seen in the attached pic. I'm at a loss here.
I need to get this character done by tonight and did not expect to run into this obnoxious bug.
Addendum: This bug happens when I plug in monochrome procedural textures into the transparency slot too.

Thanks anyway
UPDATE: Decided to plug a black and white jpeg version of the texture into the transparency and it renders as intended. Still looks semi-transparent in Viewport 2.0 but I don't care.
