Hello Polycount, I just built a site to showcase recent personal works as well as some professional efforts during my time at Rockstar San Diego. Adding more pieces soon, enjoy.
Hey man all your work looks really solid, and the layout of the site is pretty good as well. In some cases though its really hard to tell what exactly you worked on. I would say its fine to have a few in game screen shots, but it would help a ton to have breakdowns of the characters you worked on. Hipoly/lowpoly beauty shot etc. Right now all you have is screen shots and its really hard to see exactly what is yours.
I have to agree with KKolar, the biggest letdown of your portfolio for me is not knowing what exactly you created in various screenshots. Even just a quick caption summarizing what you worked on under each image would be awesome.
I'm a huge fan of Rockstar Games, you are a big inspiration, great work!
Good call KKolar, I went back and made a list under each frame. R* typically frowns on showing in house art assets so we have to resort to finding screenshots.
Hmm I first thought youre a 2D artist and made the covers for rockstar. The rendering of your latest work looks a little painterly, so that seemed reasonable.
Kind of turned me down clicking on the actual cover images, I would change that somehow,
it just dosnt flow well. Or atleast write under the covers "3D art for GTAV" etc, not just list the game name again.
Stuff looks ace, but as the others say, hard to tell whats actually made from you even with descriptions. It feels so far away. If you dont want to put red circles around stuff, a tasteful approach would may-be to desaturate everything thats not from you, or a tiny indicator, something
