Last 10 hrs folks.
And I believe the Pilot Girl is gonna win. She's from the same artist we already asked permission for last month, so it's all good. I will just let him know

So all the 3 references we all modeled belongs to same artist ???
Dude, we should really chose another one. It isn't okay to just model the same artist's references over and over again.
I'm in agreement with TAN on this one, its character contest, not "Konstantin Maystrenko piece of the month contest"
Also there should be some variety in our choices. I personally think the environment challenge is starting to become "sci fi corridor of the month", I don't want that to happen here.
I am gonna agree on this one as well. We should leave the concept artist from the previous month out of the running, but this isn't the same artist. We got permission on the Dark District Doctor from last month voting. The piece is by Mitchell Mohrhauser. Though we probably should have thrown this one into the mix over what is going to be picked.
So you're saying people shouldn't choose that character only because it's made by the same author? Even though it's a completely different character than the one before and people actually want it to be modeled? I think we should base our decisions by looking at the actual concepts, not the authors. It's not like anyone is forcing/paying us to choose it :P It would be kinda unfair to choose the second best one , when there's been so many votes on the first one. Though people can always retract their votes and vote for other pieces. IMO obviously :P I'm not a character modeler and I don't plan on taking part in it :]
I think it's dumb to limit variety of style by choosing the same concept artist over and over. I think it would be a nice way to force variety by not choosing the same artist, but like I said this isn't the same artist. I was also pointing out that the artist that will chosen has better pieces that fill the " hard-surface female character" type. I personally think there is too much of that being made currently, which is why I proposed we do the zombie dudes.
Which one is the pilot girl concept again? I tried uploading the popular female concept art from the ones posted previously on the early pages to search for its origin but I am not coming up with made by Maystrenko. Am I missing something here?

Because it's not made by him. I assumed it was cause of what PyrZern wrote, but stevston explained it.
OK, first of, if everyone wants to do the concept we voted on, I think we should, It only makes sense we pick the one most people want to do, who ever the artist.
but in the future, can we agree on not picking up concepts by the same person twice? even if they are not similar in style or whatever. if we say only one concept per artist this will greatly encourage variety and we will have to keep trying to find new pieces. Im not saying there cant be variety from the same person, but there is definitely a higher chance of it if we choose a new artist every month.
@ lotet - I think that is fair as well. One concept per artist during the voting stage and not the same artist that was picked last month. Just because we don't do a concept one month doesn't mean we won't ever do that concept. I think it is fair to set up rules to keep thing fresh and to keep a wider variety.
Whoa whoa whoa, shit. My bad for not explaining it well. Yup, totally my bad.
Our January's piece, was the Bunny Girl, by Konstantin Maystrenko.
February's Medieval Dude was by the game artist, Konstantin Maystrenko.
The Pilot Girl, was by Mitchell Mohrhauser. As well as the Doctor.
And I believe the Pilot Girl is gonna win. She's from the same artist we already asked permission for last month, so it's all good. I will just let him know
So, we don't have to worry about waiting a few days to get the artist's approval. I already asked Mitchell Mohrhauser if we could use any concept art from Dark District game. He said 'no problem'.
Besides, though, even if they are all the same artist, they all still look great, and if we vote on it cuz we like it, being from the same artist or not should not be a reason to change.
I get the impression quite a few people won't finish by tomorrow, me included. What do we think the etiquette is for submitting content late? Obviously we want people to stick with the current challenge, would it be a bad idea to keep posting to the Feb challenge into March?
I plan to create the thread sometimes tomorrow. Roughly US afternoon, and evening/night time for EU.
@CapableWizard That's entirely up to you. It's not like we're going to gather and grade each work or anything. Last time a few people took extra days to wrap things up. Some probably plan to finish it later down the road.

I know this was late to the party but man this would have been a hell of a lot of fun to do and reposting it cause it is a damn cool image

Will you create the thread again PyrZern or should anyone do it?
