Rafei, who founded Big Red Button following a 13-year art-directing stint at Naughty Dog, describes Sonic Boom as a real solid character-adventure story. Departing from the franchises action-platforming roots, players can expect more exploration, and a heavier focus on combat, narrative, and personalities. And, as in the show, the whole gang gets equal screen time.

But the legs on Sonic freak me out a bit o.O
Environment looks pretty.

i mean, i'll play it... but i'm cautiously optimistic i guess.
I'd play it!
I still don't get why they decided to rename Dr. Robotnik to Dr. Eggman...

Some of the environments look nicely done, some of the screenshots are however quite poor. I'm generally not sold (also what is with the scarf and the bandages?)
The dichotomy here is amazing
I think it had to do with his name being Eggman in the Japanese versions of the old games and them just deciding to use the same name everywhere, maybe it just made things easier with any texture work that would have his name or something. I prefer Robotnik as well though.
Graphics look great, I like that they changed knuckles from 'red sonic' to "Knuckles". Hopefully the gameplay can redeem the series.
What?
That was my backhanded way of saying the original design of Knuckles was uninspired and a copy of Sonic. Now Knuckles is his own character visually.
Link complex lol
Thanks for the trailer, environments looks nice knuckles is taking steroids and someone thought bandages where cool even though that hog hauls ass ... pause, it is not believable that they would hang on, scarf seems like a Harvard thing...
Otherwise nice
From polygon interview:
As for the blue hedgehog's new scarf it's not incorrect to say it was pulled straight from the closet of Nathan Drake.
"We were exploring different outfits and we went through a lot of iterations and the scarf was something I've used in the past and it works for me and it works for the character," he said. "Really, the history of that comes from the old western days, with John Wayne, and as a kid watching a lot of those westerns, that really stuck with me. And you see the use of the afghan in a lot of action movies because of the soldiers and what's happened with more association with the Middle East. So that DNA made its way into what makes a character action hero nowadays."

I think the wraps are cool because they allow you to ground the characters a little more into the world (allow for weathering too!). Maybe they're used too often in action-platformers. In the long run, if people give these guys a chance, I think they'll really fall in love with them.
Yeah I like that knuckles has more of his own thing now.
Also thank you for the info:

Apparently not. Pretty scathing reviews all-round.

That's pretty hilarious.
TBH I would have enjoyed see how the game would turn out with the very bottom left character;
................^^ Look at that chubby little fella lol.
Entitled, 'Batman's cum face'
Critically analyzing why a game failed in an adult tone = Professional.
Dog-piling on and laughing at the misfortune of your industry peers = gradeschool bullshit.

I just thought the article was interesting
For what it's worth, my comment wasn't in your direction, you are a fine human being Chris.
The 3DS version got equally low scores but I still plan to pick it up and try it for myself because it actually looks like a lot of fun. It seems like most of the complaints are pointing towards the story.
RINGS ARE COOL!!
