real time animation renderer

Hi,

Im looking for something like marmoset toolbag, but a program that support rigged models and animation, maybe in alembic format.

I could theoretically use something like unity for this. But i think its a bit too much to learn to render animations.

so im wondering if anyone knows of anything similar?

so i can set up baked lighting for the scene and then have a character animated in it.

I heard good things about iClone, but that thing just smells too much like poser. =)

my primary tool is cinema4D.

Maybe a real time viewport shader would be the easiest? I am not sure in cinema4D supports those, but I know 3DS and Maya both have a bunch out there.

yeah c4d's viewport is quite weak... they refuse to have directx support. because they want it function same on mac as on windows.. so they only use openGL...

i googled some stuff about maya didn't like it.

found cinebox for cry engine. but that's not out for the public yet. looks like exactly what im after though.

Maybe Unity with the Marmoset Skyshop plugin? Unity is stupid dumb easy to get setup and Skyshop makes things look awesome without much work.

Someone used Cryengine 2 to render out their animation in realtime (or close, I think he was averaging at 14-16fps)

Cinebox is another alternative, but last time I applied it was still in closed beta.

If you can live without Alembic Support, the latest CryEngine FreeSDK should be your weapon of choice :) I think the RC also reads FBX now, so you can just export FBX from C4D and drop them on to the RC!

Give it a shot, see how you like it - I'm teaching a class about Realtime Cinematics in CryEngine at University (and its also my job at Crytek ;)) and if you're willing to spend some time learning the tools, it will give you awesome render quality in real-time!
