Hi guys,I'm a 3rd year student at Abertay University (Scotland) and I'm working on a project with a small team for Sony. We are using their PhyreEngine to create a sci-fi racing game for PS Vita. As the engine is completely new for us the team is a bit code heavy. There are two artists, me and an other guy.
So for the overall look we aim for something like this:
Bright high sci-fi elements, mixed with low-tech, grungy shanty town stuff.
The vehicles will be flying so I made one car looking and one more airplane/spacecraft looking. But we thought it looks too average and it needs more sci-fi elements.

We liked the car more, as the main competitor is Wipeout. But we thought it looks too average and it needs more sci-fi elements. So I started to rework it, too bad I'm not really a natural concept artist. I can create acceptable stuff but it takes way more time and I think we are a bit behind, we should be already producing assets rather designing them. So these were done in quite a rush.
If you have any comment, suggestion about the overall design or have a prefered vehicle concept I would be glad to hear it.
