So could someone help me in unwrapping matter? Well i know how to do it, and i already did a test UV/BAKE/TEXUTRE on a simple knife and it went out pretty good (can share few screens if you ask), but i'm not sure how to approach in making good uvs for something complex and big as this gun. Do i need to make everything in 45-90 degrees for a batter bake? Should i avoid UV overlapping?
I'm still a big noob in 3d modelling and i would be grateful for some help.
no. it was because the information in it was very very wrong and should not be followed by anyone. please do not dig up the videos and follow them.
ive got it saved. im gonna share them with everyone i know. :P
FridockShir: initial impression was nice but yeah im definitely seeing some things not true to the actual gun, the most obvious being the front of the receiver/handguard. in double checking that statement i found a super high res reference. http://cheaperthandirt.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/acr-featured-blk.jpg
You guys are aware that the muzzle shroud could be replaced with specialised 'teethed' shrouds so they could attach suppressors, right? And the trunion plate's missing in that image. Proof: http://www.leverarms.com/media/catalog/product/cache/1/image/500x500/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/a/c/acr-tri-rail-handguard-1.jpg Be aware that the ACR isn't a single definitive system: there's the Bushmaster version (which was the image above), and the Remington version. Slight, subtle differences, but it's clear from the image he's making the Remington ACR. Compare the shell deflector with the Bushmaster version, and you'll see a different design.
Other than that, I reckon the rifle looks a bit on the skinny side too, and the pistol grip looks a bit strange (the finger wells, for example, don't really exist on the original). Also, the magazines look a bit strange, assuming you're making PMag's.
