Hello , I know this is probably a stupid question , but how can I do to Clone and Symmetrize a model I am working on to get the equivalent mirrored on the other side of the z axis as in this image ?
Mirror and weld would be the quickest way as you wouldn't need to worry about the welding due to the gap. If it mirrors the wrong side, use the mirror deform first.
Otherwise, you can split the one half into its own subtool and use subtool master's mirroring options
I did check the deformation submenu but I see only Mirror and it doesn't allow me to mirror it keeping the information on the masked parts that I actually wanted to keep , also it asked me to remove lower subd levels ... perhaps I am looking in the wrong section?
Ok sorry I found that button it under subtools , and seems to indeed to do the right thing but , the axis is too much centered on the object and so turns out a weird welding, I woudl need to put more distant that mirroring plane how can I do that? Btw thanks for the help .
Mirror and Weld is under geometry.
The centering will depend on if you're using local symmetry or not. If not, then it uses the world center. You can offest the mesh by using transpose or the Offset deform

so actually shift the plane of symetry?
