Thought I'd try out my lawnmower. It has about 5 million tris and there was no lag or delay at all. Really impressed.
I'm still really confused about the albedo map thing. Do we use that instead of diffuse from now on? I'm only using the trial, so I don't know if the diffuse slot is just restricted to the full version.
Yeah I got the occlusion but when exporting a fbx mesh out of max with a 2nd uv channel the occlusion is using the 1st channel. In tool bag 1 it uses the 2nd channel. I see with the cavity there is an option to use 0 or 1 set but it doesnt seem to switch.
Also some diffuse maps seem to load really bright, any idea what's causing this? it wouldn't be as big of an issue if it didn't happen to 2/6 textures on a multi textured model

Same, need to manually tweak textures that were fine in marmoset toolbag 1. Having a blast, I'll upload pics soon!
Does Marmoset 2 auto-update texture and mesh changes from external applications like Photoshop and 3DS Max? Marmoset 1 did this and it's one of my favorite features.

it only updates textures automatically for now.
meshes are self-contained withing the scene file and do not update automatically as far as i know.
An update to my woes, I deleted both Marmoset 1 and 2, re-installed two as administrator and not as one, opened as an administrator and not as one, Updated to the most recent drivers, and still as soon as I load up Toolbag 2 My computer automatically freezes everything and I have to hard reset. Using Windows 7, 64 bit. I could try the 32 bit version...
Fantastic release guys. It looks pretty neat and awesome. I really love the new UI.
I'm playing right now, just loaded this head exported from Maya and bake normal maps from Xnormal. But the uvseam it's so pronounced and sharp. I don't remember that on the old marmoset. I changed on preferences to xnormal tangent space but it doesn't seem to affect it.
Left image with normal map, right with default shader.
Quicktest with some cool results..the only problem I've had so far is that sometimes it crashes when you move objects..crashed a few times when I was rotating the wheels....pretty cool so far
I've got an issue where all the shading on the model is super sharp when I use any light other than the sky lights. I'm assuming it's a glitch, anyway.
It's kind of irritating, since it pretty severely limits my presentation possibilities.
Otherwise, Marmoset 2 is amazing. I'm loving it to death.
Death, I say.
I've got an intel core i7-2600 8 gb of ram, and an Nvidia GeForce GTX 550 Ti; running Windows 7, 64 bit.
And Ballo, do you have the swizzle settings correct? Try toggling "Flip Y".

obligatory OMG ITS SO PRETTY IN TOOLBAG old model woo.
Haven't seen anyone answer this, so in case you are still searching for it:

there is no double sided rendering yet if that is what you are asking. back face is culling by default and no way to turn it off yet.
Bummer

i am sure it is up there in their to do list, for now you will have to manually duplicate faces, flip normals and inflate it slightly.
Thanks for the tip. Will try that.

Yes (only tried textures though).
These are my machine's specs. Not the greatest I know, but I'm not sure if that'd cause an install error.

testing it out right now. psd´s load awesomely quick now! everything loads awesomely quick infact
Make sure to turn on sRBG Color Space in the options. That seemed to do the trick for me.

Thanks dude! Solved my problem Now I just need to figure out how to make a glass effect on a holosight using an opacity map...

Really impressed with the number of polygons you can throw at this!
Loading in high polys is so easy and quicker than maya, which is just sad.
Backface culling? From what I've read in this thread, there is no option to turn it off at this point in time.
Still can't figure out how to get the opacity on the sight correctly
Ah this sucks... Makes the inner parts of my tar look horrid
No, no auto reload of meshes...
Computer freezes to death when trying to run the new Marmoset.
Hope the guys at Marmoset can patch it soon

Cause in the first one there was a dedicated shader to be used through masks...
Use the albedo slot, it's pure color input.
Just dropped an older model in it that was set up for TB1 and already without doing anything getting much nicer results! Thanks so much guys!
'Lil bit of Darfin around at work
