School of Interactive Design (obvious scam, or useful)

Hey guys, so normally I wouldn't care about any sort of education in the games industry because youtube is an amazing resource, but I saw this deal on amazon where you can get a 1 year membership to the "School of Interactive Design."

Personally, I don't know anything about any game design teaching resources outside of youtube, eat3d, digital tutors, and 3dmotive. Is this any good or is it a scam?

The thing that leads me to believe it's a scam is the fact that there's an Amazon sale for it, lol.

Ignore my original pessimistic comment.

Have you checked out their website? It shows the videos they've got, so it should give you a decent idea of whether it's topics you'd be interested in. Doesn't look super in-depth to me. I'm guessing you'd get access to the videos listed at http://www.schoolofinteractivedesign.com/training-cats.php ?

Figured as much, I suppose buying education from Amazon isn't the greatest idea in the first place lol.

I was actually just looking at that, don't know how I missed it haha.

I'd go with your original comment though, I'm looking for something more advanced. The other online video resources I mentioned have content for people of all levels but this definitely looks like it focuses on people who have never done anything game development related before.

I'm going to go ahead and pass on this, thanks for your input!
