She was very helpful to me she and gave me a lot of information on getting the fundamentals in my drawing skills up as much as possible to really make my art better. She is awesome and she cares a lot about her passion in the way she was enthusiastic about giving words of advice to a stranger like me.
I didnt't want to put business out there but i feel strongly that she should be noticed and recognized.
Im sorry this happened to you ana, please recover soon.
"driving without a valid license", of course that piece of shit wasn't suppose to be on the road in the first place. It was probably his careless driving that made it 'invalid' in the first place. I'm glad they at least found the asshole. Unfortunately it will do very little to help Ana
BTW, for me, it's incredible to see this kind of things happening, because they would not need to ask for funds in my country (sanity it's free), and we have insurances aswell.

That and theres a bit of a lesson to be learned, not for her specifically but regarding the nature of cause and effect these days. She was riding a scooter, and as someone who used to ride motorcycles, having friends and family get serious injuries because of other drivers is all too common. Its not really worth riding a vehicle with no protection, no safety mechanisms in place, because no matter how good of a driver you may be on a motorcycle or scooter, theres always one bad driver or someone not paying attention for that one split second. Its easy to believe nothing will happen but it will eventually, its just a matter of time.
I wish her the best though, and am amazed at how well this community (and site owner) came together to help her in a time of need.
how terrible, I hope she makes a good recovery, people are such scumbags, one of these awful uninsured speeding drivers hit my dad and nearly killed him when he was on his scooter years ago, I don't have any money to spare right now but if donations stay open a few days ill give what I can.
sounds strange but it quite possibly could've been worse, I nearly lost one of my eyes about 5 months back and as you do in these trying moments you contemplate and realized how awful it could be if I was blind or lost my dominant drawing hand, I just hope this in no way affects her ability and she goes from strength to strength.
man, kinda puts everything into a little better perspective when you see what some people are having to deal with....best of luck Ana, hope you make a swift recovery and get back to making art soon.
Post count isn't what defines someone as being a Polycounter. If you're an artist who is eager to help other artists, you're a Polycounter. From what I have read and been told, Ana is a true mentor. A Polycounter.
Myself and the rest of us on the Polycount team wish you a speedy recovery.
I don't know if it will go anywhere but I forwarded her story to Bespoke Innovations, a company in San Francisco that uses 3d scanning & printing to create custom fairings for prosthetic legs.
She deserves every bit of help she can get. Really Glad to see this is making the rounds in as many places as it is and hope to see it go even further.
When I first saw this on my feed, It was really surreal. I've met Ana while she was still in school and kept in contact here and there even after graduating. I hope her energy doesn't dim in the slightest because of this, She's a great person to have around.
Hey guys, we have 3 Ebay auctions going for autographed Gears of War Lancers. 100% of the proceeds will be going directly to Ana. Please spread the word!

Polycount you own, hope she gets a speedy recovery.
I am pissed but glad they got the a-hole, so terrible, glad it wasn't worse.
Either way shouldn't have happen, don't even want to get into it if it was a family member I can't imagine what they are going through.
The donations page is looking mighty healthy, amazing how you guys come together.
Always helping, stay green.
Edit:
I didn't want to bring it up myself but I was also struck by a car though we where both at fault, I wasn't too shaken up after either, I got up drug my bike to the corner and sat down not after cursing at the guy, good thing he stopped, I cracked the wind shield with my head but I am fine just had the biggest black and blue on the side of my body and a medium size gash on the side of my head, though I thought was brains at first.:poly142:
As someone who was hit by a car this year (I was a pedestrian), all my feels go out to Ana right now. Thankfully, I was only banged up and bruised and didn't have to go through what she will deal with, but I know how shaken and incapacitated I was for a while just from my injuries. I'd donate if I could, but here's hoping my well wishes will be enough to assist her a little when she is recovering.
Dang I can't believe this happened. Ana you're one of the coolest people I've ever met. Keep your spirits up, and don't loose sight of your dreams. This is only a small kink in the road.
Terrible. Really makes me consider the way I spend my time and what I take for granted. Hope she'll be okay and can still make an amazing future for herself.
Not to be a total jerk, but is gofundme a safe site and what relation is Jason Healy to Ana.? I wanted to donate, but once it got to needing the credit card info page, I became very skeptical. Too many frauds out there, I am just being cautious. Never used Gofundme before.
Donated. Never met Ana, but hope she gets the treatment and best prosthetic she can as a small recompense for whats happened. I also hope she carrys on making art when she can, as shes clearly very talented. Good luck Ana!
Ana, I hope you, a beautiful young woman with a promising talent and her whole life ahead of her, can keep a beautiful spirit about this sad and life-altering situation.
As sincere as I wish to be, it feels as if there just aren't enough words one can express to convey as full a sense of sincerity as the situation merits, but at least one can try in saying: My heart's with you, Ana.
I wish you strength during your recovery and strength in coping beyond your recovery with this most unexpected trial life has unfairly dealt to you. I hope you continue with your promising future as an artist with encouragement, regardless of the new challenges you'll undoubtedly face.
And I personally hope you can turn this negative circumstance into positive inspiration for others in this life. My thoughts are with you, Ana.

LRoy: From the website it seems that the donations are for medical expenses and a high quality prosthetic.

Hope her donation page fills up!
Glad the hit and run driver was apprehended. I am happy to see that $32,000 has already been raised.
Question though. If it's a hit and run, and they dunno who it is, how do they know they dont have a licence?
EDIT: Scratch that. They must of gotten the licence plate or something because they caught the fucker soon after.

thanks adam!
But I got a retweet button and money to give, so I hope that helps her out.
Keep positive.
EDIT: Actually, I would love to see her art! Does anyone have a web page link for her or gallery or something?
lol. My argument: The entire forum. Its all helpful!

I don't have money to spare at the moment, the least I can do is spread some extra info that pops up when I see it.
That's an awesome donation. I wish I had the money to compete where I suspect these will bid to.
