My Portfolio Work

Hi everybody

Here is some of the work I have been working on the past year. I wanted to turn this thread into my gallery and would love any feedback on how to improve my skills.

Wow there's a lot of really amazing stuff in there. What exactly are you doing primarily though, characters, environments, concepts? Either way they all look equally impressive, keep it up.

As far as linking images goes, you should be able to just grab a direct link and put it in between [img][/img] tags.

Very impressive how you've pumped out so much work yet still kept the quality high. Is it your full time job or how do you stay so productive? Great work either way.

Like what Logithx said all characters, environments and concepts are all equal in quality...how the hell do you do it?!?!

The secret is to live at home with your parents and get an easy part time job for a year;) Thanks I'm very flattered with the compliments, I should be posting some images on here soon.

Your portfolio is amazing. Which program did you use to make them landscapes?

The software I use for landscapes is World Machine. It's great it's cheap and creates erosion carvings in mesh that would take weeks to sculpt the equivalent in Zbrush.

I did too, now I upload images to flickr and use the BBcode, can even use sites like imgur to host images.

looks great! all i can think of is to reduce number of portfolio pieces to as small as possible. I can suggest to keep theese

An overall comment, remember to include your name & contact information on each image; this is critical if you're looking for work. Also, a name/description and information (polycount, texture sizes) will be nice once you've got your portfolio site.

On your first character (space pirate?), the brace of pistols should be stuck into the belt; at the moment they're not connected to anything. The scabbard is much too thick; it's made from thick leather. and the opening should be as thick as the sword blade (0.125"-0.25", on average).



BTW, right-clicking on one of your images, selecting copy image location, then clicking the insert image icon (it looks like a yellow landscape) and pasting the image location lets you include your images directly in the forum.

I find the blue background on the second character distracting; it blends with the blue shading on the character. A neutral gray gradient might be a better choice.

Hahah, seconded! Downgraded from a full time job to part time in January even though I'm still paying rent, took me a month to make primitive shapes in Maya.

Its agreed then, tsmith3d is a robot or you have bernard's watch (a watch that can stop time).

On a serious note though have you thought about making a website where its only a few pieces and leaving the tumblr as just a blog and for WIP's?
