It looks a bit flimsy. It might be worth thickening up a bunch of those steel rods, particularly in areas that are going to take a bit of a beating like the bumper bar.
based on previous feedback (and also the fact that we don't want to change very much in fear of complicating the rigging process) I decided to stick it to just about 1:1 with the original model's proportions... but I'll probably change the thickness a bit - it probably won't mess with the rigging
Looks pretty sweet, although I wouldn't have a clue who or why they'd recommend to turn down the welding as you know this is a self made buggy and it was made in a rush so I actually doubt they would really bother to fine tweak the welding...
Though that said the final LP+Textured version does look pretty sweet, Personally would have added a bit more contrast to the red metal to make it stand out a bit more as now it looks rather one tonish (brown)
Other than that it sure is a HUGE improvement to the original so job well done, that's for sure!
The only thing that catches my eye on the shotgun is the grip thingy below the shotgun.
(excuse my lack of weapon terminology please. =])
There seems to be some pinching going on.
I would have probably modelled that piece "flat" myself, subdivide it once, so it has enough geometry to play around with and use an FFD/Lattice to give it the shape you want (so you dont need to push around any vertexes).

thanks for the advice! I didn't end up using an FFD because I wanted to keep the inside of the pump un-curved, but I did end up getting rid of the pinching by using the double-smooth trick.
so, little progress report: Brightside is done with the crowbar and the grenade and so I believe he only has the RPG to do! And then we'll just get it off our hands and onto the internet, pat ourselves on the back, and that will be all.
For the buggy - the last time I heard anything about it, literally everything was breaking during the Source-import process and so it's looking fairly grim right now. I blame source.
in the meantime, I finished the lowpoly/uv/materials/etc for the pistol and the model and then threw them inside Black Mesa on IIopn's excellent animation set, along with two models from the HL2 pack that were still relevant:
I'd probably gauge some interest for this but since this is on a preexisting animation set I'd either need to get permission from IIopn or seek out some new animators (because all the animators I know have got better things to do than cater to my model-inserting demands :v )
Nice stuff man! I think that's my level from Black Mesa (if its the first part of Office Complex), I remember working on that about... 6/7 years ago now! Flipping heck, time goes fast.

yes it is c1a2a! it looks great - a proper upgrade if i've ever seen one:)
They should (the devs of BM:S) add yours as default in game which are they re-releasing Source 2 (hopes)!
i don't know what i'm talking about your models are gorgeous!
ty, ty, but unfortunately I don't know of anyone on the BMS team and so I dunno how I'd go about doing that
got a particle dude to help out. i couldn't properly capture any of it on the screenshots but it looks good. you will have to take my word for it on this one.
Mr. Brightside & juniez, I've sent both of you a PM but I'm not sure it's getting through. Posting here just in case. I'd like to share some pics from a HL2 sp mod I've been working on for two years, but I don't want to derail the thread in anyway without permission. I think it could really benefit from the weapons you guys have put together.

Nice! Only small crit I would have is to make the eye-piece of the scope a touch thicker. I realize it's almost paper thin in the game; however, having a bit of mass to it would look great in first person.
This stuff look amazing, the one thing i would point out is that, even though it's really well crafted, the reload animation seems a bit too relaxed, I think it would look a bit too casual when used during a firefight. Keep up the great work!
Sorry guys, I registered on this site a day ago, I wanted to ask you how to install these models for black months, I like these models so much, and I do not know how to install them (I probably do not look carefully)
hello, I created a new account for myself, I did not like my past account, I wanted to ask you for Half Life 2 model paсk is still being developed? I'm waiting with no patience to download it

thanks! But no, I think the weapons and vehicles are work enough for me
:0
yesssssss
i've been getting crits to turn down the weld marks a bit though
but anyways..... here's the lp and also some WIP materials... just testing out paint chipping atm:

bb0x's approach seems straightforward and handy, though!
well still, it was worth fixing i think
thanks guys!

no, that is out of my scope. sorry to disappoint
i don't know what i'm talking about your models are gorgeous!
Really nice work here!
probably faster for the community to make it at this point. lol
