Blender 2.68. Working on Crystal Maiden Stuck. Please help!

hi. im a noob and i just really wanted to make this cm staff as my start. sadly im stuck.

i can't make the png appear to my staff. (
im learning through a video tutorial on how to make the png appear to the mesh but the option "mapping" is missing. did you see it somewhere? (it should be somewhere in between image mapping and custom properties but none)

Add a material, add a texture to it (image or movie), and "Mapping" should appear along with a couple of other options.

Dude, click on the arrow, the options are there.
